We are finishing a three night stay here right now. It's pretty good. The location is convenient, the bed is super comfy, and the Lounge is excellent. Yet I don't think it was worth the prices they charge. The day we checked in was really quite bad. We arrived after a long day of traveling and received the exact room...

My wife and I were first-timers at this Marriott property, and very much were pleased with just about all aspects of the experience. While an expensive property (what hotel in downtown SF isn't), there is comfort and service that abounds in all areas of the property. The lobby service was very professional, from front-desk to bag service to valet. There...

Perfect for the ones attending events on the Moscone and also for those who want to shop on Market Street. Close to tram and bus stations, many options for lunch and dinner around. Staff very friendly and helpful. Loved that they lend us umbrellas, it was kind of rainy!

Our room was comfortable and certainly adequate but somewhat dated. We did appreciate the easy access to outlets for our many electronic devices. Other amenities,--coffee, shampoos etc -- were nice as well. Was disappointed that there was not a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. I've come to expect that in hotels of this caliber. It was nearly impossible to see...

We enjoyed staying at the Marriott Marquis. The hotel is conveniently located making it easy to walk or cheaply Uber to a variety of destinations. There is a target and a park across the street that add value to the location. I recommend this hotel.

Had a nice stay at the Marriot Marquis SF for a research conference. Great location. Good service. Was a easy walk to the Moscone center. Only negative is the parking prices. Will be returning to another conference in October.

A very large but wonderful hotel. Great location although a bit away from the Pier for tourists. In the heart of the downtown. Good restaurant and nice features. Although San Fran is expensive, this hotel is a good value.

Great upscale hotel if you have money. I love the wines on tap for 4 bucks a half pour in the M lounge. Here's a few tips for the management: Guard the M lounge better to keep out the riff raff. You need to provide water bottles to 350/night to clients using the gym.

The location is right downtown. As usual in such hotel, the facilities are great. The differentiator: I met Ron, the concierge, and he made my experience a blast! It is awesome to feel that enthusiasm while receiving a very high level of service. Say hello to him!

This Marriott was in a great location - walk everywhere! It was big enough to have all the amenities, along with, of course, the high price of a big city hotel. Lobby areas expansive and comfortable. Every employee was nice and helpful and really went out of their way to be nice. That said, the measure of hotel is the...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
