The location is great within walking distance of Union Square, Powell Street Station, Cable car and restaurants. The Hotel itself is lovely and decorated extremely well however the rooms are rather small. There is no space in the bathroom for your toiletries however there is a large six draw cupboard that holds the coffee maker which you can use. I...

Jason was an excellent host. The room was very very comfortable. Beds was great. Breakfast was filling. Unfortunately there was not much going on in Monterey this week and Carmel was a drive to get to. Would have been better if the staff at Merritt were more knowledgeable about local goings on. Roman

For singles or couples looking for a moderately-priced boutique hotel, centrally located, with excellent service and immaculate modern rooms, the Alise would be an excellent choice. Each staff member with whom we interacted was friendly, knowledgeable and professional, which can be a tough trio to achieve. The rooms are small (the hotel was built in 1913), but beautifully furnished with...

Husband and I stayed for three nights. Hotel is lovely and bed quite comfortable however our room was so small we had extreme difficulty opening our two full size suitcases without placing them on the bed; small bathroom also with no counter space for toiletries or cosmetics; suggest asking for a larger room if possible when booking? Many good restaurants...

The Alise was such a pretty hotel. Good location, our room was nice and clean with a HUGE bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. San Francisco had some of the BEST seafood I've ever had. The clam chowder and crab bisque is a MUST. See San Fran in the afternoon from The Golden Gate Bridge is a must and...

The building has been tastefully updated and decorated; the pineapple yellow theme was kind of cheerful and cute. Little touches- like having cream in the fridge for that morning coffee in the room-made all the difference. The staff were attentive and personable; any issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently. We also enjoyed the use of bicycles to cruise the...

My wife recently booked this room for us so we didn't have to drive home after a Giants game. Beautiful small boutique hotel. Rooms are small but good enough for two and an overnight stay. The beds were amazing. The showers relaxing. The staff was very nice. The gentleman that worked the bistro on Saturday night was awesome. Really knew...

Good location, cute rooms, very clean, modern, great customer service. Really enjoyed our stay. Got there early Sat morning and they even let us check in at 8am - which was so nice after arriving very early in San Francisco.

This was my wife's first trip to northern California and San Francisco was our last stop. I wanted our stay to be one of the nicest, so based on prior reviews The Alise was selected and we were not disappointed. Everything was new and clean, the staff were all friendly and helpful and our breakfast was delicious. I would highly...

Our recent stay at The Alise was fantastic. The location is convenient to lots of shopping, dining and transportation. The rooms were compact, but cute, clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely. The mochas at the Bristro were the best we had in the city. We'll absolutely be staying at The Alise again the next time we're in SF.
