Great location right by fish man’s wharf’s lots to do plenty of places to eat. Hotel clean bit basic coffee machine and iron in room. Breakfast was included busy with plenty to choose from food could have been bit hotter. Stop and Go don’t use if in a hurry it’s more stop than go. All staff polite and helpful Good place to stop for short stop over for final destination
I was traveling with my teenage son and we need our separate spaces; I rent suites because it costs less than two conventional rooms and it's usually nicer. Our suite was amazing, with a view of the skyline. Conveniently located near Fisherman's Wharf, we had easy walking access to most of the things we wanted to see. Our room was very quiet, and I was surprised to see it overlooking what was a very busy pool area! I did not hear any noise. They offered an outstanding hot breakfast, packed and handed as takeout in response to COVID. This was actually the best breakfast I had in a long time. The staff were very friendly and helpful on every front - from the front desk to the food service areas to housekeeping. My one wish: more working elevators. There were three that went to the lobby and only one worked. This was very congested each morning when people were checking out and had all their luggage. Another single elevator down the hall goes to the fitness room which is on the opposite side of the driveway - we used that one more often (we couldn't find any stairs). But just FYI: this entrance did not readily appear to be handicapped accessible. From what I could see, one would need to walk down three or four steps to get outside. The decor was modern and eye-pleasing, and the entire property was very clean. The property was close to many conveniences such as grocers and restaurants. We walked everywhere and got to see such places as Telegraph Hill, Lombard Street, Chinatown, Pier 39 & the infamous California Sea Lions, Alcatraz, etc.…
Great hotel in a good location central to San Fran. The breakfast was a nice inclusion but it is a bit of a battle as the number of people they cater for makes it a bit of a daily grind. Lack of kettles and an iron was an inconvenience.
Such a beautiful hotel!!! We arrived around 9pm and the front desk was very helpful (showed us where the nearest store was), and even upgraded our king room to the deluxe (beautiful room!). We only stayed one night, but wow, I wish we were in San Francisco longer. Definitely will be planning a return trip to San Fran and will 100% stay at Hotel Riu Plaza!!! Oh, and the breakfast was AWESOME!!!!
Beautiful room, comfortable king bed, wonderful full buffet breakfast, friendly staff, great location,…..what more could you ask for? Close to Fisherman’s wharf, Pier 39 and walking distance to the cruise terminal. Family friendly environment.
We had a great stay here. The check in was quick and easy and the staff were very polite. The room was modern, spacious and clean with two comfortable large beds. The shower was good and stocked with plenty of toiletries. The breakfast was good with a huge selection of options. The staff at breakfast were always friendly and polite. I noted some reviews complained about the lines, but we didn’t experience that. The location was brilliant, just a short walk from Fisherman’s Wharf. Would definitely recommend
We stayed for two nights in January 2023 and were really happy with the hotel’s location. It’s an easy walks to restaurants, tourist attractions, a Trader Joe’s etc. the hop on hop off bus is nearby as were the self guided go cart tours which was so much fun! The included breakfast was good - hot and cold selections - and lots of tables so even though there was a lineup to be seated, it moved quickly. Decent room with an oddly inconvenient bathroom door (not enough space) but that was the only knock against it. Coffee and a refrigerator in the room. Gym was well equipped and the grab and go for a quick lunch in the lobby was great on arrival. I’d definitely stay at this hotel again.
Location is the best from San Francisco , its easy to go in downtown , pier 39 , Alcatraz . If you want to travel here I recomand octomber and november , when the weather its perfect. I like the hotel , room its clean , nice , spacios ,with confortable bedroom , breakfast its ok.
Clean and awesome room, nice space… good treatment. Central and close to everything. Free breakfast. We loved the heaters (fish tank-type fire) on the outside. the prices are accessible. the bathroom is divided into two sections and a door for more privacy.
Nice room with the quality you would expect. Hotel provided a great buffet breakfast that was let down in my opinion a little by its provision of fruit juice from a chilled dispenser (from concerntrate, like those used in fast food outlets). I feel a hotel of this quality could have provided chilled freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice in jugs. Not sure evening meals were available but probably most people go elsewhere. Seemed to have a lively bar.
