I loved the ambience of the Hotel. I was on the 22nd and everything seemed new and fresh. The amenities in the rooms were fantastic. I loved the view. The restaurant was great but very expensive for breakfast. I loved the convenience of the hotel to Union Square and China town. The employees at the front desk were very efficient...

- Only stayed one night - Location was fine. It seemed to be away from the busy areas, so if you need to sleep it won't be a problem. But getting to the nightlife areas is going to require walking a few blocks, which wasn't a problem, but those hills are going to get your heart rate up. - I...

In short I will just say the Fairmont is a very pricey hotel but you should expect that from a hotel that is in the category of a five star four diamond that being said you expect the quality of that, my only negative comments are number one it's a beautiful hotel the room service was horrible I paid an...

The Fairmont is located in Nob Hill which is a great spot to stay for exploring the city. Walking distance to Chinatown, shopping on Market St, Union Square, and the Embarcadero. Beautiful rooms with great views of the city and harbor. The service is excellent. Great food quality in the breakfast buffet. Nice lounge for relaxing and light snacks. Lobby...

Customer service is amazing, the food is even better (check out the sunday buffet brunch and crabmeat omelletes!), love the rooms in the old section and the new ones (especially the views). We are regulars and try to book an extra night on biz trips just to enjoy the hotel and surrounds, especially the Ferry Market on Saturday mornings.

Love this hotel - if you can swing staying here - it's worth the price. My only comment is that the bathroom vanities are a bit small for a couple to place all their items. Adding a shelf or something else would help. Other than that you can't go wrong with this hotel. Beautiful, clean, well kept...great staff.

We arrived here on our first day of our honeymoon and it is a very grand hotel, there are shops situated in the lobby area you can browse in and a bar connected to the hotel. Disappointingly we found out there was a roof top bar that over looked the city after we left and that would have been spectacular...

Hotel was clean, comfy, quiet for sleeping. Staff could direct you to all parts of San Francisco with ease. The room had charm, the bathroom had great water pressure and hot water. Even in out Ca. drought.

If you're staying at the Fairmont and someone else is paying, then enjoy. But it's your "nickel" it can be a shocker. I had to be there on business with relatively short notice. The town was "sold out" and I had to pay $720 for a single room. A nice room, for certain, but nothing amazing. My only complaint, though,...

The Fairmont on Mason St on Nob Hill offers comfortable rooms (ask for the rooms with the view of the bay) and consistent service. Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
