The staff at the Presidio Travelodge made the trip. They were thoughtful, knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. We had a great time and will be back.

This was my 4th stay in San Francisco and overall probably the best hotel. Free parking was a great boost and there was a spot for us when we arrived. The desk staff were efficient and friendly and were were quickly in our room. This is a Travelodge not a Hilton but it was clean and everything worked. The weather...

For the tourist a great place to stay as an alternative to down town area which is easily reached by bus. In a good area with some good eateries a few blocks away on Chestnut St. Room and bathroom fine (although the latter a little small); bed very comfortable. Staff extremely helpful and friendly and their advice really improved our...

We will agree that the team at this Travelodge is really good - personable - accommodating without being patronizing. Our small room was clean, made up every day with fresh towels, and on the ground floor. Considering we don't spend much time at the motel, this was just fine for us. I'm very particular about cleanliness and I found this...

Hotel has seen better days, and is in need of a makeover/update. Room was small, some of the furnishings were old, bathroom was a bit grotty and aircon was really loud. Room was just about bearable as it was clean - but there was a lingering smell - whether it was smoke or pet residue (they allow pets) I'm not...

The staff at this Travel Lode are outstanding. They are extremely helpful and very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are quiet. The hotel is in an excellent location next to the Presidio. This parkland setting of eucalyptus trees provides for great walks and excellent views across the bay and of the Golden...

I’ve given the Travelodge 3 stars, but by my rating system it strictly deserves only 2. Good location in the Marina area of San Francisco, one block from the Presidio, close to the Chestnut Road/Lombard Road restaurants and shops, and within easy public transport travel to Union Square (Bus via Union Street). Basic, but neat and tidy room, I did...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
