Great hotel in a very good location in San Fran. Really close to a tram stop, free coffee/tea/hot chocolate etc. Slightly small rooms but very clean and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again

The Edwardian offers the best value of the 7 or so SF hotels where I've made short stays in the past few years. The location is excellent, the rooms comfortable, and the staff--especially Clair and Rocky--go out of their way to make sure you're well taken care of. There's no parking associated with the hotel, but on this stretch of...

The hotel was nice and the staff was great. Our flight was delayed coming in and they assisted us way past their 23h00 check in. Although the hotel was good enough, we were shocked by the state of the city. The amount of homeless, drug addicts and crazy people in the city is shocking. The city also has a permanent...

We stayed here for 3 nights during our sightseeing trip in San Francisco. The hotel has IKEA-style interior which is very basic, but sufficient for us. We had the room directly over the restaurant and yes, it smelled sometimes, but it was not too bad (the scent was more burned wood - not food - as they have an oven...

We were initially a bit hesitant to book after some reviews regarding homeless people but glad we ignored it and booked here, as it was as exactly as what my title says. Yes there are a lot of homeless people about but we found that everywhere in SF, and to be honest they didn’t really bother us and when they...

Great little boutique hotel next to some really cool areas of San Francisco. Right next to the Castro and mission districts, both of which are really cool places. The staff are all so amazing and friendly. The room was really clean and nicely decorated. Free tea and coffee. The tram stop is literally across the road to take you all...

Well located hotel for great value with very helpful staff. Rooms are small but very comfortable and very clean. Staff went above and beyond to help us when we were having some difficulties with our airport transfer and it truly deserves them a 5 star review. Would highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere central with character instead of a...

Clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, would of loved a small fridge or ice machine. Shower pressure very poor. Lots of homeless in the neighbourhood but they keep to themselves. Loved the old school elevator.

This small hotel is well presented and the management provide an excellent service. Unfortunatly no lounge but there is a wine bar next door and there are many restaurants nearby. The tram is outside the hotel soits so easy to get into central San Francisco. Very pleasant and would certainly go there again.

Had a delightful 12-day stay in 3/2017, at this small boutique style hotel in a good location on Market Street. Staff is friendly and helpful. This is a great hotel for the travel-light, European-style traveler. Mini-lobby, vintage elevator and spiral walk up. We stayed in two different rooms. Both were clean, bright and airy, but were small with one chair...

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
