To describe any B&B or hotel in Bayfield as "off the beaten path" is accurate. Bayfield and the Apostle Islands are simply among the loveliest places the Lake Superior region has to offer. The Grey Oak Guest House (while still within walking distance of everything - easily) is in a neighborhood just a little away from the town center. There...

We stayed in the the Brownstone Bedroom. It was very spacious with a sitting area and a large bathroom for a B&B. The Innkeepers were very helpful about Apostle Islands National Park and the town in general. There are only 2 rooms so it seems both private and intimate. The B&B is a few blocks from the main downtown area...

Exactly what I want from a B&B. Nice quiet location with friendly hosts and a nice breakfasts. Also, I am not a big fan of the lets all take at breakfast (most days) so the small size (only 2 rooms) and the nice breakfast (wonderful fruit, yogurt, breads...) for you to eat in your room was exactly right for me....

We stayed here for two nights following Bayfield's big Applefest. Considering our hosts must have been tired after such a weekend invasion, they were wonderfully welcoming and accommodating. They were also non-intrusive and left us to come and go as we pleased. Our suite was delightful and comfortable. Breakfast was left on a tray outside our door by 7:30 each...

My friend and I needed to do some "catching up" and Bayfield was the place to do that and more (shop, drink wine, shop, eat, drink wine). We wanted a B&B for the comfort and the home away from home atmosphere. The great big wrap around porch is so welcoming as you drive up and park in the free off-street...

This B&B is located in a nice neighborhood, seven blocks from the lake. There is free off street parking and you can walk to town, but the walk back is all uphill. The rooms are located on the second floor of the home. There are steep steps to the room. Susan was quite warm on arrival and provided us with...

We stayed two nights at Grey Oak B&B. It is an old victorian home modified to be a Bed and Breakfast. Our room (suite) was comfortable and homey. The owners left us alone to come and go as we pleased but were very friendly in greeting us and bidding us good-bye. They provided a continental breakfast with danish and bread...

My wife and I were very fortunate to have found a room in Bayfield with only one month advance notice, so do as I say not as we did. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised by having off street parking. The exterior of the Grey Oak was lovely. Our hostess greeted us and handled our luggage. The first floor was...

We stayed here two nights during the fall, and thought it was beautiful. The breakfast was elegant, complete with fresh flowers! The room was large and comfortable, and the hosts were friendly. The view was of the neighborhood, which was residential. It's a fun town to walk through, we went to and from the harbor several times.

We loved the room, porch and location. The best was having our breakfast delivered on a tray outside our room. Breakfast in PJ's is the best and unique to other B&Bs we have visited. The scones melt in your mouth! Great breads, fresh fruit and yogurt. Generous healthy breakfast. All the amenities.

“Swede Hill Suite is bright, roomy and beautifully decorated, simple not busy. Very quiet, private with nice bathroom (not shared, which is a dealbreaker for me). Views of Lake Superior from brass bed! Big bed plus a pull out sofa. Big, sunny, with A/C and fans and flat screen TV, in front of home.”
