Camphosts on Loop C were fantastic. Nicely kept campground and bath houses were impeccable. Only negative, many of the campers (with horses and trailers) were very RUDE and ignore any speed limit through the campground. As we were attempting to leave, we asked a gentleman if

I was very impressed by a recent stay at Bandy Creek Campground. There are numerous camp sites that are spacious and contain fire pits, lantern poles, grills, and pea gravel bases. I stayed at site D32, which was right near the bathroom but did not offer afternoon shade.

Great sites, great facilities, and great service. The campground host was very helpful as well as the Park Rangers at the Visitor Center. The park itself is a hidden gem. Deep gorges, amazing landforms, great hikes, great fishing, and mountain bike trails.

We enjoyed a 6 day stay at Bandy Creek in loop D. Sites have good shade and several bath houses that are in great shape with showers. The campground has a store that sells ice and firewood 24/7 on the honor system if needed. A pool and many walking and bike trails close by.

at what does the golden/senior discount apply? thank you.
Are there areas where I can swim my dogs?
The campground had a small creek running through it, that might be a wading opportunity at best. There are a couple nearby rivers that varied in their speed and depth while we were there. I would say "it depends" on the dogs swimming. Some creeks we passed while hiking had larger pools that would be fine for dogs. While hiking we camped near a feeder creek into the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River. One day it was fine in that creek. Then, after it rained, it was nearly boiling, charged with the runoff. Best answer - it depends on the time of year and rainfall. I hope this helps.
