The hotel was a comfortable hotel to stay at for our first visit to Asheville, NC! The breakfast was nutritious with many selections, location was great and the shuttle service was a great touch. There were some issues as we arrived, such as stains on both comforters in our room, the tub and overall bath needs to be upgraded and the heater on the AC was not working properly. However, the manager went beyond so that we have a comfortable enjoyable stay so it was much appreciated.

The HGI Asheville is located in a clean, quiet part of Downtown, surrounded by offices and government buildings. Shops, restaurants, and a park are just a few blocks away, and the hotel offers a shuttle van for longer trips to South Slope breweries.
The hotel sparkled, and every hotel employee we interacted with was friendly and welcoming The shuttle van was a unexpected perk, and a real differentiator over other hotels. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Sorry to gush like this, but the hotel facilities and staff earned it.

The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way possible. This was the first time traveling in over a year and we weren’t sure what to expect. The hotel was equipped with sanitizer and wipes around every corner and the staff was often seen sanitizing. Speaking of the staff, they couldn’t have been any more helpful and friendly. Ashley was welcoming as we arrived and provided a great start to our visit. At sunset we decided to head up to the rooftop bar. The tables and couches were spaced safely apart and the staff wiped down everything before we took a seat. We enjoyed a delicious drink as we watched the sun set over the mountains and cityscape. The wait staff on the rooftop was excellent. As Hilton Honors members, we enjoyed one of the best hotel breakfasts we have experienced. A made to order omelet and a croissant breakfast sandwich were amazing. Alisha and the rest of the staff were accommodating and extremely friendly. The location allowed us to walk the downtown area and easily walk back to the hotel. My husband and I are already figuring out when we will return.

Good hotel, with some caveats. It is an easy 10 minute walk to downtown. The staff were very impressive; efficient, warm and welcoming. The hotel was very quiet. We had a suite, which was vast, but the layout and decor need a bit of imagination. Caveats? Due to the recent hurricane, breakfast was limited to coffee, cereal and pastries in the large lobby, the bar was closed and the rooftop restaurant was also shut. There was no reflection of this in the already unacceptably high room cost. An additional irritation was. $15 per day to self park my car. A little more financial consideration and fairness to the customer would be appreciated . Hence only 3 stars

Dear Clarksdale, Thank you for choosing the Hilton Garden Inn Asheville Downtown as your accommodations for your recent visit to Asheville. We are glad to hear that you had positive interactions with our staff and that the suite size met your needs. We are sorry to hear that your overall experience was not great. We apologize for the lack of services available at this time including the food and beverage operations. Since Hurricane Helen and the damage to the Asheville water system we are not able to provide these services. We are working diligently with our local health authorities to get our food and beverage operations open to our guests again. Please reach out to me directly as I would like to make things right. Thank you for your feedback so that we may make improvements to our facilities and services. Sincerely, Rhyne Franklin General Manager

Needs improvement: Road noise in rooms, house keeping.
Never having visited the Asheville area before and trying to pick the best hotel location to downtown is kind of rough looking at a computer, but overall, we picked a good hotel. Blocks from all the action downtown, we were happy. The hotel is very clean and up to date and the staff welcomed us very warmly. Check in was a breeze, we are off to a good start. We stayed Thursday through Sunday. We were told we would see house keeping Friday, but Saturday and Sunday would only be by special request. All fine by us, we understand employee shortage, except…. We never had service Friday. All good, we would just call for some extra coffee, some additional cups and towels. Everything arrived a while later, except for the cups, they would be right back….nope! All good, we grabbed some from downstairs. First night in, our corner room faced the main intersection. Large, spacious, clean room. Only issue was the traffic noise was horrible. If/when you stay here, i suggest a room higher in elevation and NOT facing the main intersection. That is our only complaint. My only suggestion is to include the $10 a day parking in the $300 a night room rate.
Overall I would stay here again and would recommend it to my family and friends.
Hope this helps.

Very noisy room. Ceiling squeaking when people were walking around on floor above. Could hear furniture being dragged across floor and could hear people opening their curtains in the next room. WiFi very spotty and only free if you’re a Hilton honors member, which I am, but it seems a little classist to me. Parking is $10 a day. You have to pay extra for everything. Playpen they setup for us the mattress was way smaller then the playpen. When asked about the correct mattress we were told by Destiny that’s the only mattress they have and they assured us it was up to child safety standards. Our daughter woke up in the middle of the night wedged between the mattress and the side of the playpen. Not safe. We had to go buy a playpen for our stay. Amenities on website said laundry, so we assumed they had a laundry room somewhere in the hotel and we only brought clothes for 1/2 the week because we were going to do laundry and then were told they didn’t have a laundry room. Please update your website. In summary, you can stay at a hotel that’s just as clean with free breakfast, parking and WiFi and probably a laundry room for a lot less money. On the positive, the wait staff at breakfast was wonderful.

Very disappointed with this property. Wedding guests were suggested to stay in this location. I actually changed my reservation to stay at this hotel. huge mistake. We are Hilton Diamond members too. If you aren't used to staying in nice hotels this hotel should be fine. The guys working the front desk were not knowledgeable, confrontational anf when asked about transportation to a wedding venue a bit rude. Shower was not clean, mold in places. Very basic room, full length mirror in closet with no light. no magnifying mirror in bathroom, no mirror in bedroom. lighting not optimal. Stay cost $650+ for 2 nights. I will not return. I'll spend the extra and stay at Grove Park. Lesson learned.

Booked the room online and realized I put in the wrong date. Immediately canceled and booked for the correct night. The hotel charged me $140 for canceling even though the time stamp was immediately after booking the room accidentally. The manager I spoke to was very smug and not willing to do anything to make it better. I’m a Hilton honors for years and I will be going back to Marriott out of principal. Do not stay at this hotel! Criminals!!

I spent a weekend at the Hilton Garden Inn Asheville Downtown. I am a loyal Hilton Diamond member and expect customer service based on a loyal customer. The hotel is a bit of a walk from downtown and is way over priced for the quality of the hotel. All of that aside, when my room was cleaned the housekeeping staff took/disposed of everything in the shower including my two GoTubes with my personal soaps. I have never experienced this in the past. Once I realized this I contacted the front desk that of course apologized but housekeeping was gone for the day. They said they would let the manager know and get back to me. I have now followed-up three times and have still yet to hear from a manager (nearly two weeks later). Very frustrating that a manager would be ghosting someone for a mistake they made.

Hello William, I am very sorry that you did not have a better experience at our hotel. Our mission is to exceed the expectations of each guest. Unfortunately, it is clear that we failed to do that for you. I am also sorry that we were not more attentive to your personal care products when cleaning the room -- I'm sure that must have been very frustrating. If you still remember what kind of soaps that were discarded, please reach out to me and we will be happy to replace them. My direct office line is (828) 575-1190. I apologize for the inconvenience this has been for you. But we certainly want to make it right. All the best, Micaiah Liner Assistant General Manager

This is a nice property, I would recommend it for both a business or vacation stay. I reserved three rooms for my family for a long weekend. Check-in was very smooth, they were able to get us rooms adjacent on the same floor. The rooms were all clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful for our stay. I recommend the rooftop bar/restaurant in the evening, the view is nice. They also have a shuttle that was very helpful for us, up to 11 o'clock they will pick you up. We used it to get back from the breweries on two evenings. I saw some negative reviews but didn't see issues. The staff was VERY nice to my family. I will definitely return to this property in the future.
