Detailed Reviews
This is the most wonderful B&B in a very pretty neighborhood near downtown Asheville. We stayed in the Whilbe Room which is spacious and has an enormous bathroom with a clawfoot tub and a walk in shower. It’s on the second floor and also has a separate entrance. We were greeted by the owner Dan who gave us a quick tour. They offer a little snack area with tea/coffee, soda/water, and even have little bags of ice ready. Homemade cookies are available each afternoon. We had noted when we made the reservation that my husband had some dietary constraints and Diane went out of her way to accommodate him, making him a different breakfast from the rest of us each morning. She went above and beyond and we very much appreciated the effort to make him comfortable. The breakfasts were enormous, more than I could eat. Some B&B’s have a choice for breakfast or a buffet, but here it is a full plated meal. First morning was a savory spinach/egg bake with roasted pears, tomato & tomato jam, and country ham. Second morning was a huge waffle with a spiced whipped cream, cheesy egg bake, spiced apples, and bacon. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this B&B.

Thanks for the kind words. We are glad you both enjoyed your breakfast which is abundant. We can accommodate most dietary needs and it was easy to prepare food for your husband because you were very communicative. Appreciate the recommendation! Diane

The accommodations were lovely, especially the sunroom porch that overlooks the beautiful grounds. Our room was spacious with a nice refrigerator that included a large freezer to store ice packs for traveling; there was an electric fire place that added extra additional warmth and ambience; the towels were luxuriously thick; and the walk in shower was elegant. Best of all though was waking up to the smell of a heavenly breakfast of butternut and spinach frittata, baked cinnamon apple, and homemade fluffy buttermilk biscuit with maple cinnamon butter.

Our stay at Pinecrest B&B could not have been better. We spent 4 nights in the Cowley room and loved it--very comfortable bed and linens, large bathroom with walk-in shower, great views of the wooded, secluded back area, adequate electrical outlets (you can never have enough nowadays). The common areas are welcoming. The dining room and sunroom where delicious gourmet breakfasts are served each morning at 9 am are sunny and bright. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio sipping wine and listening to the birds in the evening. We also enjoyed strolling through the quaint, historic neighborhood with its eclectic mix of homes. Parking is on the street but quite ample. Dan and Diane, the innkeepers, are friendly, gracious, and super accommodating. They made our stay at Pinecrest special. We expect we will be visiting the Ashville area again in the future and when we do, we will be staying at Pinecrest.

We are so glad you choose our B&B for your stay in Asheville. The Cowley Room was renovated at the beginning of 2022 with a large walk-in shower and a new electric fireplace. Love the comment about power strips.....we all have lots of devices these days! Come back soon.

There are so many options in the area, but you won't go wrong with Pinecrest!
We just returned from a wonderful stay at Pinecrest...and are already missing Diane's amazing cooking! We were treated to incredibly delicious breakfasts (a mix of sweet and savory delights) and daily homemade treats! I appreciated their ability to not only accommodate my dietary restriction, but make me feel spoiled with the creative dishes and sweets.
Dan & Diane made us feel welcome and at home, like we were visiting friends. We appreciated their extra safety efforts as well, including air purifiers in the rooms.
We really enjoyed the Wibley Suite which had a recently renovated bathroom and a very comfortable bed!
The location is perfect in a beautiful historic neighborhood that is within walking distance to various attractions. There was ample parking in front of the house and it was an easy drive.

We stayed in the Grace Room for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The king sized bed is high but very comfortable and the room has its own a/c. There are built-ins filled with books, a sofa and chair, large wardrobe, small fridge and flat screen tv. The bathroom is en-suite and has a gorgeous tiled shower with built-in bench. The inn itself is spotless and the grounds are very pretty. The hosts, Dan and Diane, do a wonderful job of making you feel at home. Diane’s breakfasts are outta this world. One day she made French toast with homemade bread. Another day we had quiche. Another day we had pecan pancakes. Each day there was local sausage or bacon and seasonal fruits, and a variety of egg dishes. Each afternoon there were homemade baked goods for dessert and they were all delicious. Beverages and snacks are available around the clock. Be sure to take Diane’s walk around the Montford neighborhood, and if Dan recommends a restaurant, go to it! I would highly recommend this b&b to everyone!

This B and B was FABULOUS. The owners are very hospitable and always looking for ways to make your stay exceptional. The breakfast was over the top delicious with entrees changing every day. The owners are 2 of the nicest people you could meet. The location is in a quiet residential area that was within walking distance of an open air restaurant. Since I was there 9/2020, COVID 19 regulations were in place and the owners had done everything they could to make the stay safe, clean and comfortable.

Pinecrest B & B was a beautiful respite! The home and property were exceptionally well cared for and created a sense of welcome, comfort, and calm. Diane’s breakfasts were gourmet feasts and she easily accommodated a vegetarian diet. Both Diane and Dan were gracious and charming. The chocolate covered strawberries available for room service were AMAZING as was the meal from Chiesa that was plated and served in the garden. Absolutely perfect and a lovely experience!

We stayed one night on our way glamping but that’s all it took to leave a lasting impression on us. Great place to stay with amazing food. The beds were incredibly comfortable, rooms were spotless, and made you feel very at home. The breakfast was outstanding! The folks running it were genuine, informational about the area and just all around good nice people to make the stay feel warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay for a night or a whole week. We will definitely make a point to go back every year we come down here to go glamping.

If you want to meet up to 10 friends or family members in Asheville, the Pinecrest B & B is definitely worth considering as a whole house rental. The breakfast served each morning can be customized to meet guests needs - gluten, soy, dairy, or nut free along with vegetarian/vegan or other dietary requests. If special dietary requests are limited to a portion of the guests, Diane makes the remaining guests breakfast without restrictions (i.e. vegetarian would have cheese/almonds or yogurt in place of sausage or bacon). Each breakfast served is delicious and rivals any of the highly rated restaurant breakfasts in Asheville.
Afternoon treats each day include a delightful homemade cookie that can also be customized to dietary restrictions, as needed. House favorites include pecan bars, double loaded chocolate chip cookies, dark chocolate salted caramel cookies, or seasonal selections such as peppermint bark chocolate cookies, lemon ginger pistachio cookies, or maple brown sugar cookies.
Any time of the day, the sunroom porch offers a wonderful place to hang out and socialize or read a book. There is the option of coffee, tea, soda or sparkling water for guests to enjoy, along with a variety of pre-packaged snacks.
When it comes time to venture around town, Diane and Dan can offer a variety of suggestions from hikes, driving destinations, restaurants, or any other places such as spas, guided tours, bicycle rentals or kayaking. Location is perfect for walking into town or exploring the neighborhood on the greenway walking path.
There are many options to consider when visiting Asheville. I loved my whole house stay at Pinecrest and would highly recommend it to anyone else.
P.S. I have also stayed at Pinecrest several times with a single room rental and received the same exceptional service.

Spectacular property - stunning back yard that makes you feel like you aren’t even in the city. We took advantage of the seclusion package and didn’t have to lift a finger. The safety concerns during COVID were a concern to us, but having our own entrance and no contact relieved all fears. The in-room massage was so convenient and relaxing. We took our packed picnic lunch to Biltmore gardens and every single detail was thought of- from napkins to a trash bag. We hope to come back very soon. Don’t miss this amazing package!

We are honored to be part of your birthday weekend celebration. Even though we only have 5 rooms, our Wible Suite with a separate exterior entrance is an option for guests who would like to limit their contact. We are glad you liked the massage, picnic and private dining breakfast that is part of our Seclusion Package. Please come back to Asheville and stay at Pinecrest again!

Our city location is not the best for sunrise/sunset views, especially if our trees have leaves. However the best room would be an eastern exposure, the Cowley Room.
Our Cowley Room has twin beds but none of our rooms have double beds.
Thank you for your inquiry but Pinecrest's clientele is adult rather than families so only children 10 and older. Please do check Sweet Biscuit Inn as they are a family friendly bed & breakfast in Asheville.
The sun porch has a ceiling fan and many windows but no a/c. However all the guest rooms and our parlor have window units.
Yes, you can walk to the downtown area.
