Detailed Reviews
So yesterday I checked in around 5:45 PM and was given room 220. Check in was a breeze and everyone was pleasant. When we left and came back last night around 10:55pm and I realized that our room door would deadbolt lock. So that’s when I determined that our room door wasn’t locking at all, and you could just push it open. So, I called down to the front desk and the person was very helpful (green tips to their hair). They came right up, and I showed them exactly what I was talking about, and they also realized that you could just push the door open.
So I emailed Parker the GM and he stated he would call me. He called as I was at the front desk and came up. He refunded the night stay (which honestly should have been done the night before honestly). He then promised 10,000 bonvoy points to my account and I still haven't seen those. I sent an email to follow up and received no response. Clearly he over promised and under delivered. It's easy to just do what you say you are going to do.
Hotel is nice and newish but that issue was off putting for me. Staff is nice as well! There are big potholes as you are driving to turn into the hotel that hopefully they are getting repaired so pay attention. If you are given room 220 make sure it locks.

I stayed at this hotel for one night in July 2022. The staff provided a friendly and informative greeting. Even though this hotel is sort of downtown, it is a bit further out. Since I had a long drive to the hotel I did not mind taking a “long” 20 min walk into downtown for dinner at Nine Mile restaraunt. While the hotel is new and general amenities seem fine, the hotel’s location has room for improvement. Next to the hotel is an empty lot (just the foundation of an old building) and across from that lot is the end of an exit ramp off the highway. There were about four homeless people at that intersection, where I don’t expect to see much foot traffic. Five mins walk away are a two groceries (Trader Joes & Whole Food). Once a nice building goes up next to the hotel, it would be a more promising stay. I would only stay here again if it’s just myself for one night or a larger group of adults. It’s weird even though there are other businesses around, the hotel felt a bit isolated. I really liked that the hotel had both above ground and garage parking. The elevator from the garage does require room key for access.

I loved this hotel. new, clean, nice gym, good breakfast, nice sitting area in lobby, easy parking....what's not to like? well, my colleague had a room facing the highway and said it was LOUD loud. I did not face the highway and loved it. It's the kind of place that would be great for longterm.
of course it's not luxury, but it is solid

We stayed here a week. This hotel location is not great, but that did not stop us from walking 3 minutes from the hotel, under the freeway, into downtown each day. A few times we saw individuals at the exit ramp holding signs for help, but we were never approached and we did not feel unsafe. There area is well lit and there are sidewalks and crosswalks with lights along the route. Our 4th floor room faced the freeway but the noise was not as bad as I initially feared, so the building seems well insulated. We appreciated the underground parking on the hot summer days. The laundry room and gym are also well equipped.
The staff was super nice and the crew did a great job with the hotel breakfast, which included lots of variety. There is a Whole Foods nearby, so we could stock up on what we needed, but there were so many yummy places to eat within walking distance we did not eat in as much as we had planned.

Puzzled by some of the reviews, this place is outstanding. Parking is easy. It is a safe and easy 5-10 minute walk to downtown. Three grocery stores up the street, and 9 Mile only a five minute drive away.
Units are brand new. Roomy, great shower, lots of USB ports and plugs. Great work station with an excellent chair for working. We had an amazing view of the mountains as well. Great TV with all streaming platforms
Staff is friendly. we had a problem with our TV and they were up within 5 minutes to solve it.
It is less expensive than any of the up scale downtown hotels and a great value as well as a great stay

The hotel is very new and time will solve the minor – but not major - issues. The rooms are not ready, I was told there were no other rooms available when they were and the 'sofa bed' is simply a box without cushion.
We stayed in a suite with a sofa bed. We were initially put into a room on the first floor and the dresser did not have drawer pulls. The front desk said the drawer pulls had not arrived and I should use a butter knife to open the drawers. I assume this problem will be fixed over time.
However, the staff needs to be honest. The first floor room was very close to the highway and noisy so I asked for an alternative. I was told all the suites were on the same side of the hotel and would be equally noisy so we stayed in the room. When we came back after dark, I discovered the room was also under the street light so the room was both noisy and bright. I went back to the front desk to ask for a higher floor so we would not be under the light. A different person offered a suite on ‘quite side’ of the hotel. I took the new room. Apparently, the person who initially checked us in did expect me to try again for another room. I don’t know why she told me there were no other rooms but I did not appreciate the dishonesty.
Finally, the sofa bed is not for sleeping. It is a sofa and can be converted to a box the size of a bed. They provided sheets and bedding to put on the box. It became a box with bedding. It does not feel anything like a mattress or a bed. It is not a sofa BED. This cannot be fixed unless they replace the furniture.
Despite planning to stay for several nights, we left after one night. We will not be back to Townplace Suites again.

The staff are great, very kind, and personable, the rooms and beautiful and spacious, the beds are comfy, and the complimentary breakfast is delicious! This long-term stay hotel was perfect for my needs, as I was moving into town and didn't have a place lined up at first. Having the full-sized refrigerator, the cook tops, pots and pans/cooking utensils was really nice and helped me save some money while I found a place of my own.

I would avoid this hotel unless they guarantee you a room away from the highway. We had room on the highway side and it was so loud you couldn't sleep without earplugs. The staff wasn't able to move us so we ended up changing hotels. Whoever built the hotel forgot the sound proofing.

I could have really liked this hotel except for two things. When I first checked in, my room had definitely not been cleaned- there was hair all over the place in the bathroom and used soap next to the sink. My room was promptly moved down the hall and I could have moved on to have an enjoyable visit except I soon discovered that I had been moved to a room next to a dog that barked constantly- the slightest noise inside or outside the hotel would set the dog off. I complained to the front desk who said they would address the problem. After another night of the barking after 10 pm and before 5 am and then repeatedly all during the day, I complained again (along with a couple other people on my floor). We were offered new rooms, which really was inconvenient for us to pack in the middle of a long trip. I am not sure why this wasn’t addressed with the dog owner. Again, I possibly could have felt better about this situation if I even received so much as an apology from the hotel. The location is not top notch so, for me, it is definitely not worth a return stay.

We felt very unsafe here. The day we arrived there was a homeless encampment on the sidewalk by the hotel. We did have an issue with one of the unhoused getting into the building by following us after we activated the elevator. Security was notified.
We often stay at Marriott. Some of the sofa beds have a mattress on them when they fold out. Others open flat and are as hard as a box spring. The hotels should have a mattress pad to put on it. We've gotten the pad before so we know it exists. This hotel insists they don't have the pads. The desk clerk actually said so you want a mattress to put on your mattress.
