Artsy little place, warehouse look sort of, nice little room, convenient to the Orange Peel and lots of shopping and restaurants. I love a room with full length mirror, and dispensers instead of plastic bottles for shampoo etc. Free parking. You do have to pay for breakfast and selection is limited. Construction noise was terrible during the day Friday but I am sure we could have changed rooms if needed. I wonder if Moxy next door is just as nice. Can't beat the convenience.

Great location, convenient to most things downtown. The Bonvoy app said parking would be $10/day, but it was actually $15, however, it allowed in & out privileges & was easy to access. I had checked in on the app, and had my digital room key, but it wouldn't work in the elevator & the staff said it is 50/50 if it would work or not. Our first night was great, second night there was a LOT of noise (other guests, random pipe noises, etc).

Appreciated the filtered water dispenser at the ice station. Staff was very friendly & loved the foster dog who greeted us at the front desk. I was impressed by the provided toiletries which were DryBar brand, but wish there was a full size lotion as we used up the tiny travel sized bottle quickly. Since we were traveling friends, I appreciated that the bathroom had a fan in it ;) I really liked that I could play my music via bluetooth & the TV. We found the beds & pillows very comfortable. I did have some trouble finding a sweet spot for the temperature, as the unit pumped out air right in front of the one bed. The pool deck looked like it would be an amazing place to hang out if it were little bit warmer - fire pits & a great view of the mountains at sunset!

Have been a Marriott Reward member for years, but never stayed at an Aloft. The hotel had a fun and comfortable vibe from the moment you walk in, plus they had a parking garage that was included in your stay for $18 per night. It was worth it. The Aloft in Asheville was perfected located around all the fun things to do in downtown, plus only 2.1 miles to the Biltmore. Plus the Aloft allows pets for those traveling with their furry friends. Plus the WXYZ bar was well stocked and the bartenders mixed some delicious cocktails.

This was the 3rd Aloft stay during our August vacation (Dayton, Louisville previously), and the one we liked least. Upside: bed was comfy, room was quite clean, staff was friendly. Offputting: As Bonvoy guests, we were given a $25 credit for our 2night stay to buy breakfast which was a one time use. Breakfast was overpriced ($9 for oatmeal? That $25 evaporated 1st day). At the other 2 Aloft properties, breakfast was included and quite bountiful. We did travel with our dog - and stayed outside the room before leaving to insure he didn't bark - but there's no green space outside the hotel for doggie relief. We had to use a church behind the hotel which wasn't ideal. Also - $18/day for parking? A bit much. We did hear barking dogs in rooms we passed; owners should be more attentive before leaving them behind. Overall, not the best Marriott property whether traveling with Fido or not.
Marriott sidenote: I much prefer contacting the property directly to mention such impressions but email addresses are not readily disclosed for Marriott properties.

Thank you so much for your feedback soxfan401, we appreciate knowing what our guests did not like so that we can work on improving for the future. The $25 credit for breakfast is the amount that Marriott has decided on for the breakfast amenity, since ours is made to order the prices are higher than some other hotels I am sorry that it did not meet your standard. We only charge for parking so that we can guarantee a spot for every guest who stays at the hotel, the garage is owned by the city so we have limited say in the matter, but we do make sure that it is a lower price than the average parking price in Asheville which is around $25 a night. I am sorry to hear that you will not be staying with us again, we hope you reconsider so that we can show you a stay that is more to your and our standard.

I’ve stayed at Aloft properties many times over the years and in many different states. This was the first time I’ve actually been so irritated with the lack of cleanliness that I requested a room change. The initial room had fur as well as food particles left behind on the counter surfaces. The second room not only had remnants of fur on the hard surfaces, it also smelled damp and musty. This had had me sneezing to the point where I wasn’t sure if it was being caused by a pet allergy or mold. Two for two.

When I inquired about the state of the rooms and the pet policy I was informed that the entire hotel was ‘pet friendly’. I responded by recalling that at other locations in my past stays, pets were allowed, but only on certain floors; not the entire hotel. I’m not certain if that policy has changed overall for the entire franchise, or, if it’s unique to this particular Aloft location and I didn’t bother trying to clarify because I wasted enough time switching rooms and had already checked in later than I had planned too.

I chose to stay put because I only booked one night, my car was parked in the indoor garage and the downtown location was perfect. Staff was also very apologetic and tried to be as helpful as they could but if I had booked a longer stay I most likely would have left.

Good evening MissyPA71, I am so very sorry to hear about your experience while you were here with us. While we are a 100% pet friendly location, we do have policies and procedures in place to prevent issues such as the ones you described. I will be following up with our executive housekeeper about this to see why the standards that, not only you, but us as the hotel expect from our rooms. Again, I am very sorry about these issues and do hope you chose to stay with us again.

Guest beware! We had an absolutely terrible stay here for a few reasons.

1. Pet Friendly - As one of the only pet friendly hotels in the area, expect every guest to have a dog. This means that they are barking at 3am and you will get very little sleep. They are taking over the lounge area and there’s no possible way to get away from the incessant barking within this hotel.

2. Due to ongoing construction, there was so much noise at this hotel from the concrete and stone saws - even when we were in our rooms we could not escape it. They allowed these stone saws to start at 7am.

3. During the hot Fourth of July week the pool was closed and we had no way to cool off.

In short, this hotel places the dog experience above the guest experience.

Well_Traveled_78, we're sorry to hear that your stay with us didn't meet your expectations. We apologize for the disruptions and inconveniences you experienced. Firstly, we understand that our pet-friendly policy can sometimes attract a higher volume of pet owners, and we appreciate your feedback on how this affected your stay. We'll take this into consideration as we strive to create a comfortable environment for all our guests, including those with pets. Regarding the construction noise, we apologize for the disruption it caused. We know that construction can be a nuisance, and we'll do our best to minimize its impact on our guests' stays. We'll also look into adjusting the start time of our construction activities to a more reasonable hour. We're also sorry to hear that the pool was closed during your stay. We know how important it is for our guests to have access to amenities, especially during hot summer months. Our pool was not meant to be under renovation this long, however construction has been delayed, but things will be open again soon! We value every guest's experience and will take your feedback into consideration as we work to improve our services. If you have any further suggestions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We hope you'll give us another chance to show you a better stay in the future.

Plus:
The location in downtown Asheville is wonderful - within easy walking distance of so many shops, galleries, and restaurants but on a street that itself isn't too busy or noisy.
The room was a bit small; it was designed to be compact and had a tiny closet, but the shower was nice and large. Good lighting and a lot of plugs made the room visitor-friendly. One lovely touch was a small pack of sanitizing wipes that I will enjoy having in my purse.
We had little interaction with staff, and every guest I saw wore a mask.
Cons:
The room seemed very clean, but there were remnants of party decorations still stuck high up on the wall.
We were in a room with a door to an adjoining room. When the people in the next room got up early this morning, we could hear every word of their conversation.
Maybe rooms that don't have the possibility of adjoining would be quieter.
There was no coffee for the coffee maker.

Conveniently located within downtown Asheville, the hotel is clean, follows COVID 19 protocol and is very service oriented. The staff greeted me with and provided me a map of the downtown area and local restaurants to consider. The garage parking was a huge plus for only $10 a day. The hotel allows dogs free of charge as long as your dog is leashes and or crater inside the room. The fitness center (during COVID) requires a reservation for working out (1 hour slots with allotment for 1 person only, allowing for 30 minutes for cleaning in between reservations) is clean and sanitized. The hotel offers free coffee, but Starbucks is an additional charge as well as continental breakfast items. We will stay here again once in the Asheville area.

We live about 3 hours from Asheville and visit about 2-3 times a year and Aloft is our go-to hotel. We love staying here, the parking garage under the hotel makes it super easy to park your car and never worry about it again on your trip. The staff are always friendly and we love that they are pet-friendly. The rooftop patio is a great spot to get a drink from the bar and watch all the downtown hustle and bustle. Everywhere is a short walk from this spot, makes it the perfect place to stay.
The pool can get a bit crowded in the summer months as it isn't that large and during peak season the price gets very high. We are Marriott members and the price is still too high on peak times in my opinion, but this is a tourist town so it is expected to be high. The noise level has never been bad in my opinion here even though you are right outside a busy bar area.

No hand soap, so we requested and it was delivered - discovered no shower gel while the first family member was already trying to shower, and had to request a do not disturb sign. Hotels must execute on the basics. Location is a bit south of the main action downtown, has convenient parking. Our Mountain View was actually of a construction crane :(. Appreciated the hotel bar and billiards table. A few pieces of gym equipment are not fully functional.
