Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed staying at The Blind Tiger, which is located within easy walking distance of downtown and an even shorter walk to several tasty restaurants, such as Bone + Broth. The inn is newly renovated and very clean with lots of special touches. The bedding and towels are luxurious. Another one of the nice touches is a 24 hour supply of beverages and snacks. In the morning you will find a variety of things to eat quickly (examples: yogurt, granola, English muffins, etc.), OR you can linger longer and make yourself at home with several cups of coffee or tea in the generous-sized common area. We stayed three nights and would go back next time we are in Asheville.

This is the perfect small hotel with a very stylish interior. I loved the jetted Tun and private sitting area. The main house is lovely and cool vibe. The service and attention to detail was great! Also, a great location close to downtown

Our stay at the Blind Tiger in Asheville, North Carolina was truly unforgettable thanks to Catherine, the general manager and staff who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, making us feel right at home. The property exuded charm and character, offering a tranquil and serene setting that was just a short walk away from town center. The Table room was a stand alone cottage that had a dual sided fireplace that added an extra touch of warmth, creating the perfect setting for a peaceful stay. The Blind Tiger's quiet atmosphere gave you the feeling that you had the place to yourself. Also, a shoutout to Grace would helped up modify our reservations and make it work so we could come at another time than originally planned. We were blown away by the overall experience and would absolutely recommend this boutique hotel to anyone seeking a tranquil and memorable getaway.

If you want a change of pace from typical hotels, Blind Tiger Asheville is it. Located on a quiet street in what was once a residential neighborhood but now accommodates professional offices in old house, Blind Tiger is less than 10 minutes from downtown but seems worlds away - that is the highlight.
Comprised a small number of rooms in an old house and an outside "cottage", the Blind Tiger offers quiet both inside and out. You can lounge on the main floor and read or sit outside and relax - both options usually not found in larger hotels.
However, there are drawbacks: what is called breakfast really isn't ( a few muffins and croissants - always the same variety - , yogurt in packaged form, self-serve coffee and tea, plastic ware); uncomfortable, old furniture in the room (we were in Curate, which accommodates dogs); A/C that you cannot regulate but have to text the management to change; the vanity in the bathroom (lighting hangs down in the middle of the mirror - makes it difficult to see while you shave - and the vanity itself was too tall - almost up to my wife's shoulders).
As noted earlier, Blind Tiger does offer a change of pace - but it comes with some costs and compromises.

Trendy design and common room. Areas for improvement: Slow WiFi that required login every 30 minutes; no TV and their website says stream on your device; Bad lighting; no full length mirror; no iron; broken toilet; breakfast was limited to breakfast bars and instant oatmeal.
Overall Blind Tiger seems overpriced for the value, but most lodging in Asheville is overpriced.

The place is really lovely- beautifully eclectic & comfy decor, great location, and everything necessary in the room to make for a great stay. The sheets are dreamy. My husband said I drifted off to sleep murmuring "these sheets..." The espresso machine was kind of a combo milk steamer/espresso thingy and not functioning, so offering espresso is misleading; overall the breakfast was quite disappointing. Nothing like the website photo. Simple is great. Asheville is full of fabulous bakeries, but pre-wrapped stale chocolate croissants and oatmeal biscuits and sugary oatmeal packs is pretty sad. There was a sleeve of English muffins, luckily, and plastic packs of jams, butters, and cream cheeses. There's so much good jam locally! Missed opportunity, especially at this price point.

Such a well curated and perfect place to stay in Asheville. The complementary snacks were such a fun touch, the room was beautiful, and the location was a short drive from downtown Asheville. Also, the quick response from staff and checkin/checkout process made the stay easy and enjoyable. A great stay!

Definitely has potential, but not at all what the website promises. We stayed in the Ralph Waldo Emerson Suite which had a beautiful four poster bed, fireplace and vaulted ceiling. The large jetted tub was a nice addition. Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortably soft, the mattress pad and some of the pillowcases were older, worn and pilling and the bed frame itself though impressive to look at, felt as though it would at any moment crash to the floor. (You’ll want to lay absolutely still to avoid any worrisome noise, shifting and movement of that impressive bed frame.)
Thick towels, hand towels and wash cloths were available for use, but unfortunately not replaced as expected. Our used coffee cups and wine glasses were also left in our room. (Was it the COVID restrictions that kept our room untouched by housekeeping?) Our two 3-course breakfasts were as promised, very good though the second day, it appeared the inn was understaffed and a one-man-show. The property itself is charming and the landscaping will likely be beautiful this spring and summer. Nevertheless, this BnB is definitely overpriced and oversold.

Traveling in the days of Covid 19 isn't easy for the traveler or innkeeper. Although there are some things this local bed and breakfast does well, there are some critical issues that made for an unpleasant stay. Leading up to the stay all was perfect, with good customer service. We were greeted by Tia with masks and gloves and you knew that they were taking protocols seriously, which we appreciated. The main house is lovely, although a bit ragged and dusty. Lots of spider webs in the windows and it could use a good wash down. I can't help but wonder if our suite is just an anomaly with all of the other good reviews. When we opened the door to the Oscar Wilde suite, we were smacked in the face with the worst combination of smoke, cat urine, and mildew musty smell. It became clear that this was a known issue with the placement of two Ion filters in the suite. The smell was so bad, that it permeated all of our clothes and luggage. Our car even smelled for several days after unpacking. We didn't take anything in the house for fear of it coming in and had to wash every last item from the trip. The furniture was old and dirty and needs to be replaced. They did do a good job of making sure the kitchenette was well equipped. Breakfast was well thought out with two sittings to allow enough space between parties. I know that this meant extra work for them, but it was a nice touch to create a safe space. I am not sure if this is why the food lacked in finesse, but there were some issues. The eggs Benedict English muffin was rock hard and had been sitting in a toaster or oven for much too long. The eggs overcooked and the sauce broken. Another morning they did a strange egg dish with salsa. We won't be staying here again, as the price and the smell just don't match up for a great experience.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary and are so glad we stayed at the Blind Tiger. This place is a total gem. Each room is beautifully decorated with unique and vintage art and furniture. The property is beautiful and just a short walk from downtown. We will definitely stay again!

Yes, we are a 4 diamond property, we do have the designated standing in the parlor and sunroom!
You would have to ask the innkeepers that question. We didn't ask of the staff had passed ServSafe.
As long as you don't intend to spend hours awake in your room, there is little need to go splurging. We did not take a fancy space, spent a lot of time exploring out and around Asheville. Came back to unwind a bit before dinner, but sunroom is open then too, went to dinner and came back to sleep. Didn't miss or need a more expensive space.
Debbi, My sisters and I drove because it was cold and there is typically ample parking around Asheville even if you have to pay in a parking deck. It's a good 10 minute walk, but doable, especially in good weather. However it is on the other side of 240 and you walk "underneath' the highway. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Very pleased and would like to go back. Hope this helps.
