My partner and I spent two nights recently in the Maya Angelou suite - very comfortable bed; huge, modern bathroom with multiple shower heads in the walk-in shower. The website photo is a good likeness, the actual room is much nicer. Excellent touches are a coffee maker, mini fridge, large screen flat TV above the fireplace and private terrce (one...

I really enjoyed staying at the 1889 WhiteGate Inn. My girlfriend and I were able able to stay there for one night, but we really enjoyed it. The staff was all very hospitable and the breakfast was delicious. The bonus of homemade cake and cookies was also appreciated. The inn itself is a short-drive from downtown Asheville. It would be...

We recently attended a small meeting at the 1889 White Gate Inn & Cottage in Asheville...what a memorable experience! We stayed in the cottage and the accommodations were delightful. The ambience of the main house is warm and inviting. The grounds and gardens are special and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Every morning we were...

We had a wonderful time on our little get-away. The hosts were very accommodating & had great suggestions for us as where to eat, shop & hike. We met many nice people during our stay at the WhiteGate Inn while at breakfast or our "happy hour". Would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great time.

The staff was fabulous from beginning to end. They were very adept at making everyone feel comfortable and suggesting restaurants, shops, shows, etc and making the corresponding reservations. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower and two person jacuzzi were personal favorites. Least favorite aspect was the temperature control in the room (which I only had a minor problem...

First, let’s start with what was great. The house is like a museum of curios, objets d'art and plenty of antiques some of which were actually quite spectacular. The house itself is enormous as well as being an antique in its own right. The grounds are spectacular especially the orchid greenhouse. If you are a fan of orchids this is...

Sometimes we recognize that there are quests who simply should not stay in B&B's but are better suited for a hotel where the environment is much more predictable. As much as we strive to provide a great experience for all our guests, that is not always possible. Luckily the WhiteGate has rooms ranging from historic to modern and guests can...

Our weekend stay at the 1889 Whitegate Inn and cottage exceeded our expectations. Every need is carefully anticipated by the innkeepers and capable staff, all empowered to make your stay comfortable and perfect. While this is a traditional B&B with beautifully appointed antiques throughout the property, it also boasts a workout room with sauna and wifi in every room. We...
