From the second we arrived we knew this was not like any other bed and breakfast we have stayed in. The grounds and exterior of the house were meticulously maintained. As we entered the inn we were greeted by the staff with warm chocolate chip cookies from the oven, they even made gluten free cookies for my husband who has celiacs. The interior was stunning and decorated to the period of the home. We had two rooms one on the third floor that had an exterior bathroom. I will admit I was concerned about the bathroom being located outside the room. It turned out just fine, the bathroom is not shared with other guests and had a lock. We were also supplied with robes and slippers to wear to walk from the bath to the bedroom. The second room we had was on the second floor by the 3rd entry. Both rooms were very comfortable, the linens were soft, everything smelled very fresh and clean. Breakfast was amazing every day and included a sweet item and a savory item. The inn keeper worked to address our dietary needs, making gluten free and dairy free options for our family. The inn is conveniently located about 1 mile from downtown and about 10 minutes from the Biltmore, making it a perfect quiet location for a full Ashville experience.

Everything about our stay was exceptional...You definitely get a whole lot for your money... from the personal hospitality, homemade cookies, charcuterie board with wine, homemade and privately served breakfast, the cleanliness, attention to detail... everything about our stay put us at ease and just created a welcoming experience where we felt like guests and not like tourists. This family goes above and beyond to make everyone feel like royalty. I definitely plan to go back and recommend it to everyone I know.

We absolutely loved our stay at Wright Inn! Sheri and Chris were truly the nicest hosts- two of the warmest and most genuine people we have ever met. The Inn was completely redone in the last 4 years beautifully decorated in traditional Victorian style with every detail personally selected by Sheri. Her attention to detail and style are evident down to the pretty napkin rings and wonderful soaps in the bathroom. The Inn is in a quiet, lovely neighborhood with easy access to Asheville attractions. Asheville itself is a cool mountain town with lots of fun things to do and great restaurants to try. By far the best place to eat in town is right in Sheri’s kitchen! Her breakfasts are so delicious and beautifully presented. There are home made cookies out on a tray in the sitting room, and wine and charcuterie boards on the porch daily. We celebrated our 25th anniversary during our stay, and she surprised us with a little home made cake in our room! We are looking forward to visiting again!

My wife and I were looking for a romantic B&B in Asheville and this was such a great find! The house itself is absolutely beautiful. The present and prior owners have done a wonderful job of modernizing everything but at the same time keeping the old features, and therefore its "character", intact. There is beautiful woodwork trim throughout the house and beautiful old windows. The wrap-around porch is a lovely place to sit and relax, as is the sitting room in front.
The location is great. The house is situated on a corner in a historic neighborhood called Montford. It's a fun location for walks, including a nice cemetery you can stroll to and visit the graves of Thomas Wolfe and O'Henry if so-inclined. We enjoyed walking into the central part of Asheville from the house but you should know it's a bit over a mile so some people would not want to walk downtown. If you choose to drive or use a ride service it's very quick; just 5 minutes or so drive to a zillion fantastic restaurants, shops, etc.
I can't say enough good things about the owners, Chris and Sherry. They were genuinely interested in making our stay great. From our first contact on the phone, to email followups, through our stay they were unfailingly nice, helpful, and fun.
Sherry is an amazing cook. The breakfasts were incredibly delicious and just the right size. The coffee was great (I think it's their own blend). And maybe best of all, there are delicious, homemade cookies out at all times.
They have two electric vehicle chargers (J1772 sockets, so they fit Tesla and most other EVs) in their parking lot, which was very convenient and appreciated.
We were in the Griffin room but all of the rooms look great. I wouldn't hesitate to stay on the third floor - there are three rooms on that floor. While two of those upstairs rooms don't have bathrooms in the room, each has a dedicated bathroom a few feet away so nobody has to share a bathroom.
HIGHLY recommended; we will certainly return for a future special occasion!

My husband and I haven't been able to go on an anniversary trip for years for one reason or another, but we finally booked and went to Asheville during Thanksgiving weekend. We picked the 1899 Wright Inn just from reviews, and it surpassed our expectations. Chris and his staff/family immediately made us feel at home the minute we walked in the door. Very attentive, but also giving you your privacy and space was a perfect balance for us for our visit. You can tell how much love and care they put into pleasing their guests while keeping the beautiful house to its best presentation. The food was delicious every day and the treats were mouthwatering. Going there when the house was exquisitely decorated for Christmas was a bonus, and we loved spending time with the other delightful guests. We hope to get back there again some day. What a treat!

The 1899 Wright Inn is a fabulous place to stay. We rented the entire Inn for a wedding weekend, with the entire wedding party + parents staying for two nights. The carriage house was ideal for the couple that have a small child (+ grandma to watch her), and the rest of us filled up the main inn.
It was wonderful to have access to the big porch, dining room and parlor areas to hang out and get ready for the ceremony. The staff is warm and welcoming, and stepped up to help us out with special requests. The breakfasts are stunning, as are the fresh-baked cookies available all day.
We stayed with Sheri and Chris last year during our "check things out" visit to Asheville. And we will definitely stay with them again!

This is probably the best B&B ever. Kelly was fantastic in greeting us and serving the happy hour goodies. The beer and wine choices were really nice. Sitting on the front porch visiting with other guests was a high point of the stay. The bed was comfortable and the linens were soooo soft. Breakfast was served promptly at 9:00 and was very nicely prepared and presented. If we go to Ashville agin, we will stay here.

Thank you for the very nice comments. Sheri puts a lot of care into the foods she prepares as we like to offer the finest amenities (food, beverage, bedding, etc) But, of course we couldn't do it all without great staff. We are fortunate to have found a family of participants who also care a lot about our guests' experiences and most have been with us for years. We are glad you chose to stay with us during your visit to Asheville. Thank you for taking the time to review. Your flattering remarks give is pride and yearning to improve every day.

I highly recommend this beautiful and historic Inn for your stay in Asheville, NC. It is 1.4 miles from downtown and many tour busses stop to share the history of the Inn with their passengers. The house is well appointed with antique furniture and the bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. My wife and I enjoyed relaxing on the porch with a refreshing drink and a cookie. Social hour is 5:00 to 6:00 PM on the front porch each day, and it is a good way to get to know your fellow travelers while enjoying drinks and a charcuterie tray of meats, cheese , crackers and fruit. A guest musician was available during the social hour to play the guitar and sing. The delicious morning breakfast is served at 9:00 am. Homemade cookies , soft drinks, coffee, and tea are available during the day. We had an EV and took advantage of the free charging stations. The owners live next door and are on site during the day. They are engaging and quite willing to share the history of the Inn.

Hi Steve. Sheri and I are glad you enjoyed your stay. We love to include the little things that make you feel at home like cookies and the convenience of having a fully charged car in the morning. We are glad you took advantage of that. Social hour has been a hit each day and we are happy to include an extra special musical experience one weekend day. We have actually scheduled more performances during the week for our guests visiting in October. Thanks so much for visiting and for taking the time to compose such a thorough review.

The owners are accommodating for individual different dietary choices. Since I am not gluten free I can't address your concerns about portions. I suggest that you call and ask.
