This is your basic Marriott hotel in a great location. We used points for the concierge floor and liked having access to the lounge where Jaime and Dayce were the stars of the show. The lounge amenities were pretty basic as other reviewers have mentioned (compared to other lounges). There was considerable noise transfer from hallways to rooms and this...

Dear Eat-Sleep-Walk : I do appreciate your review. Please accept my apologies for the disruptions by passer-byers. I will be happy to celebrate with Jamie and Dayce in the lounge. They are very hard working and consistently exceed expectations of our guests with their can do attitude and great personalities. I hope you will give us another chance on a...

My wife and I stayed at the Long Wharf last week. Overall the stay was good. We felt the rooms were a tad bit small for the money you pay but the one thing that was troublesome especially for my wife was the double door bathroom, especially in the middle of the night. It was the first time I can...

Dear Ted B – Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. The room size at Long Wharf is fairly typical of the standard found at all Marriott properties in the US. Depending on where they are located in the building, a very small percentage may be a slightly larger or smaller. I am unsure of your exact location to know...

My wife and I were originally booked to stay five nights here but something unexpected came up and we had to extend our stay for almost two weeks. John Collette, Senior Manager and the entire staff were very friendly and most helpful. We like being in areas where you can walk and this location is great for walking to tourist...

Dear George B – I thank you for joining the TripAdvisor community and am honored that you chose Long Wharf for your first review. I am delighted that John and his staff were so hospitable, although I am not surprised. He is a star in our organization and a great mentor for some of the younger associates to learn the...

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend stay here. Felt pampered, rooms were well appointed and comfortable, not huge but big enough. When you are staying in this location, you aren't spending much time in your room. Views were great from many sides of the hotel. Wish there was free wi-fi in the rooms, which seems pretty standard in most lower class...

Dear Medusa222 –Thanks for your review. Not having complimentary Wi-Fi has been a concern not only for Marriott Long Wharf but for all full service Marriott properties. Recently the Marriott Corporation has changed their policy regarding properties charging for Wi-Fi. I am happy to announce that as of January of 2015, all Marriott Rewards members who book reservations through Marriott.com...

Family with 14 year old kids and their friends. Two rooms. Fenway Park for a Red Sox game and dinner at a great restaurant across the square (Legal Seafood). I spent two nights last week at this hotel which was booked primarily for location. Conveniently located downtown along the water it has great access to all the notable tourist destinations including the Freedom Trail and terrific pubs, restaurants, etc. However if you're looking for a quiet place to sleep at night, try somewhere else. The "hollow design means noise...

Dear paulwsmith – Thank you for the review. My apologies for the issues you experienced with noise on this last stay. The atrium design is an issue for some light sleepers. We try to place quiet room requests at each end of the building or on the 6th / 7th floor which are above the atrium when they are known...

Dear kjobgen – Thank you for the review. Just a point of information we do have refrigerators upon request. The rooms are equipped with “cooler” that keep cold items cool. There is a distinction between the two. Because of popular demand, I hope that we will have refrigerators built into the case goods in all guest rooms for 2016. I...

A friend recommended this property - and boy was he right! First, the location is superior. You can walk to many interesting sites - but this is also a local tourist trolley drop point, so almost anything you can't walk to, you can take the hop-on, hop-off trolley to. Or, you can take the subway. Unfortunately, the subway station just...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
