Hotel is original Brownstone on bustling Newbury St in Back Bay Area. Conventially located between 2 easily walkable subway stops. Full breakfast included which is served in attached restaurant. Excellent French restaurant next door! Asked for room in back so noise was not an issue. Staff helpful. Do need to reserve parking spot if bringing a car-$20/night. Hotel stored our...

The Newbury Guest House, what a befitting name. From the moment you are greeted you feel like a guest in someone's home. A Bed & Breakfast in the heart of back bay; who would have thought. The lobby area is quaint, the rooms are more than satisfactory, and the hospitality makes the experience. With a location like this, and the...

We stayed at the Newbury Guest House Sunday-Tuesday. We arrived early on Sunday and were lucky enough to check in about an hour early giving us a head start on our long weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and just right for a couple days stay. We had a room in front and even though...

I have stayed at the Newbury Guesthouse many times and this last visit was by far the most enjoyable, thanks to Eddie. The manager Raymond was also warm and welcoming, as were the housekeepers and owner. This the only accommodation that I stay at when visiting Boston and look forward to my next visit.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our first visit to Boston and weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday and our engagement! The location was perfect, it was close to everything we wanted to do and see. This is a hotel with all the charm and feel of a bed and breakfast. It exceeded our expectations...

This boutique hotel has a fabulous location just steps away from many good dining options. It is not far from public transportation and the Hynes Convention Center (where I was presenting). The room was not huge, but it was nice, and the front parlor is a bonus. My Boston area friends raved.

I am very VERY happy with my stay here - it is an incredible value AND it's ON Newbury Street. First is, you get to enjoy a really nice hot breakfast on Newbury Street in Roost Café EVERY morning (attached to the hotel). Breakfast is probably a $20/value per person alone but is included for free with your stay. Breakfast...

Great location. Really. All the best shops and plenty of good restaurant and cafes were in short walking distance. Also Prudential Mall was just two minutes walk away. The Newbury Guest House is located right on Newbury Street in the heart of the Back Bay. The shopping on Newbury is famous, the restaurants are excellent, and you're in walking distance to any of the sites in Boston. An added bonus ... in the winter months the guest rate is very affordable. They even have a three-nights-for-the-price-of-two deal in...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
