My stay at the Newbury Guest House was so magical. Upon arriving the front desk person was so helpful I immediately felt very comfortable. Traveling solo can sometimes be a little freighting but not at the Newbury Guest House. Since it was my birthday, my children wanted to surprise me with flowers and a bottle of wine. The front desk...

This place is a true gem in the heart of Newbury Street. It has a very European feel. The breakfast is so good, eggs, bacon, pancakes! Such a quaint little hotel. Nothing but good things to say. This will be come the place we stay in Boston!

Great location for 'newbies' traveling to Boston, in the center of things yet tremendously more affordable than most of the well-known chain hotels. Would definitely stay again, and have recommended to friends traveling to the area.

Very happy with my recent stay here. The hotel is very conveniently located on Newbury Street about halfway between two T stops. I'm not terribly into shopping, but if you are, it's a great location. I appreciated it for being in a neighborhood, as opposed to a business district. The room itself was very nice -- fairly large and very...

We stayed here for 3 nights on our family Christmas trip and what a gem this place was. We typically stay in chain hotels but a friend recommended Newbury Guest House & I'm happy we listened! Rooms were perfect and staff very helpful and friendly. Typical breakfast (offered in the connecting Crepe restaurant next door - muffins, toast, pancakes, cereal, eggs)...

It's the sweet spot to be in Boston. It's practically smack down in the shopping district of Boston. It's the cheapest you could get amidst the swanky hotels around without compromising the comfort of your stay. The place is very clean and the staff is very accommodating. It's 3-4 blocks from the train station and very accessible to all modes...

Loved the location, the light from the window, the firm mattress, the delicious (complimentary) breakfast, the coffee and herbal tea available all day, the pleasant desk staff, the generous and pretty room and the location--did I mention the location? The only downside was...voices carry! Walls are thin and TV (& conversations) bleed right through, room to room. Luckily I was...

Just returned from a visit to Boston; we stayed at a wonderful Inn, the Newbury Guest House, lon Newbury Street in the Back Bay section of Boston, in the heart of Copley Square. It is a lovely guest house that has the advantage of being located in a top area of the city, within walking distance of many places as...

I stayed here in December with my husband. Great location near shops and subway and walking distance to the downtown area and park with the freedom trail. The room was clean, not massive but we didn't expect it to be. Cleaned daily. Nice breakfast in the creperie. Great trip to Boston.

Service - I arrived at the Newbury Guest House at 7:30 am. And although check in wasn't until 3pm, they had a room ready and checked me in, they even urged me to have breakfast next door. The staff went out of their way to welcome you and provided guests with good recommendations on sites, restaurants and the like. Rooms...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
