Just the best place to stay in Boston if you don't mind the small-ish sized inn-type place (i.e. no room service or other huge hotel services). Great neighborhood (Beacon Hill), right across from a 24-hour CVS, a gourmet market, and down the street from the Common and Public Gardens. Next to the T, with easy access and modern station. Just...

What a great find. Located in the beautiful Beaconhill area, Charles St around the corner, the T subway and a drugstore across the road. Fabulously comfortable king bed and no road noise in the rooms. Would highly recommend we loved our stay here.

Being one of the more affordable places to stay in Boston after spending hours doing research, I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving how fresh and updated the rooms and lobby area was. In town for the marathon, the lobby breakfast area was a great place to talk shop with other runners in town for the marathon. The room was bright...

I booked 3 nights in May and received a confirmation for the nights and the total price. A month later they called and said there was a "computer glitch" and the price was incorrect. The options they game me was to pay 3 times as much as the original price or cancel the reservation. I was willing to settle on...

Dear 123shirley, I am so sorry to hear that you feel we treated you unprofessionally and that you think we are unethical. We are actually quite nice people. It was my understanding that you did indeed settle on a compromised price (which you thought was appropriate and just) with a hotel representative. Please let us know if this is not...

We have always enjoyed staying at the John Jefferies House, because it is a basic clean hotel at good price. When we travel we like to be out and about doing things, so we don’t spend much time in our hotel room. John Jeffries has stayed the same over the years except for the price. It is no longer a...

I stayed here, due to the snowstorm. Continental breakfast is included and has more options than some places I have been. Rooms are very nice; you have a kitchen & the sleeping area. Sometimes you can hear the red line train, but it didn't bother me when I was sleeping. Great place to stay in Boston: you are right near...

This hotel is perfectly located, immediately next to one T stop and a couple of blocks from another T stop and the commuter rail. The airport is just a couple of T stops away. It is a very well-kept secret, formerly I believe, a sort of bed and breakfast for folks getting care at the adjacent Mass General and Mass...

This was our second visit to the John Jeffries House in less than a year. As before, we chose it because of its close proximity to Mass Eye and Ear, as well as Charles Street. We were also visiting Emerson College and it was about a 10 minute walk to the Campus. The room was great, clean, comfortable, quiet. In...

We've stayed here several times. The rooms are nice, the staff is helpful and friendly. One of the best features is that it is close to a T stop. It's just off Charles Street which has some cute shops and restaurants. You can also walk along the river just a block or so away.

Dear JGW33782, Thank you for your review. We agree that our location is fantastic, but we also have some pretty fantastic amenities as well. This is located in Beacon Hill and across the street from the T and close to many great restaurants, shops etc but the stay was not remarkable. The rooms were small, the linens were quite scratchy and the mattresses were quite worn with visible dips in the surface. The breakfast was adequate with yogurt and some whole peices of fruit...
