We wanted to visit Boston for a weekend away without the kids - this was something totally different than the normal and like nothing like we had ever done before - and it was extremely fun & relaxing! The hosts were like family to us, helped us with everything & the breakfast delivered each morning was excellent and homemade. We...

For my first trip to Boston and New England, we wanted something a little different. The Green Turtle seemed like an interesting option. It's basically a B&B made up of two boats and a two apartment houseboat. Recently, the Green Turtle was moved from it's former location to a marina in Winthrop, Mass. We found the location to be very...

Excellent stay with very friendly welcoming hosts who knew the area well and gave great recommendations for meals and ease of travel, they pay for the taxi to and from the T station for travel to Boston and back. Breakfast was excellent and there are snacks in the fridge if you get peckish, an excellent choice with amazing views across...

My girlfriend and I headed to the Green Turtle for her birthday weekend in early March, and were not disappointed. Karen and Jon were beyond friendly and accomodating (they even put up a happy birthday banner and picked us up from the train station!?), and their Green Turtle fleet is lovely. Our boat was warm, cozy, and tidy--with gorgeous views...

If you had to summarize our experience: first class accommodation, minutes from Boston, yet peaceful, with incredible views of Boston Harbor and the Boston skyline (with its stunning sunrises and sunsets), combined with 5-star service from very friendly owners, the ultimate experience! We stayed at The Green Turtle Floating B&B in cold February and it was both extremely comfortable and...

My husband and I stayed at the Green Turtle for two nights after being part my nephew's large and busy wedding. We needed a place to relax and regroup before heading back home. Karen and Jon provided just what we needed. We felt completely cared for and cared about by the excellence of their hosting. The Green Turtle was immaculately...

My husband and I stayed here on November 20th for our anniversary on the Green Turtle I. We only stayed one night but it was fantastic. The owners really have a cute and cozy place and the new marina location is a hop/skip into Boston. We arrived and Karen (the owner) was there with a cart to get our luggage...

The Green Turtle was the perfect place to get away for our 20th anniversary! Regrettably, we only had the one night, but when you're only 40 minutes away from home and feel a world away from everything, its all good! Karen and Jon were wonderful hosts, even decorating our door with a "Happy Anniversary" banner. Such an incredible location with...

Wonderful two night stay on Green Turtle II. Karen and Jon are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Even though they have a new location within minutes you are in downtown Boston. We had the privilege of being able to see a beautiful sunset. Thanks for a great stay in Boston!

Staying in Charlestown

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlestown
Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit. Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge from the North End or take the scenic water locks to Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll down cute Main street, wandering up the windy residential streets to Monument Square, where you can learn about the city’s history along with a great view of Boston at the Bunker Hill Monument. While it’s not a huge area, there are some excellent restaurants. Find your way to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is a developing area with lots of condos and an additional site for Massachusetts General Hospital research centers. Here you will also find the USS Constitution Museum. After you’re done, hop on an MBTA ferry at the dock on Baxter street and zip on over to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Green Turtle is a floating bed and breakfast as luxurious as it is unique. Set in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard on Boston Harbor, the Green Turtle offers an expansive view of the Boston skyline along with the comfort and amenities of a modern bed and breakfast. The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides), the Bunker Hill Monument and the Freedom Trail are a short walk away. You can take the water ferry to numerous points along the waterfront. There are dining choices from bagels to world famous dining. The Green Turtle houseboat and yachts were designed for comfort above all and the only reminder you are floating in Boston Harbor is the sound of the gulls, motion of the sea and the reflection of the ocean dancing on the ceiling. It is delightful starting your day sipping coffee or enjoying a cold beverage after a day of sightseeing while sitting on your dock chairs or aft deck watching the harbor traffic and city skyline. The Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast offers 3 boat choices. The Green Turtle I is a houseboat offering two private and separate suites and each has 1 queen sized bed with luxury linens. Each suite(Loggerhead and Sea Turtle) has a kitchenette and a private bathroom en suite. Each suite sleeps 2 or reserve both suites for 4 people. Green Turtle II is a 45 foot motor yacht which sleeps 2 - 6 people. She has 2 private queen staterooms with bathroom and shower in each stateroom, a full sleeper sofa in the living area, a galley and dinette and a great aft deck with comfortable outdoor furniture. Green Turtle III is a 43 foot motor yacht which sleeps 2-4 in 2 queen staterooms with bathroom and shower in each, a salon (living area) galley and dinette and an aft deck with comfortable outdoor furniture. Your suite/yacht is stocked with gourmet coffee, teas, juice yogurt, granola, spring water and snacks. We deliver fresh breakfast each morning.
