I must admit, I am shocked to read other traveler reviews that mention poor experience with the staff. The friendliness of all the staff members I encountered was a high point of my stay! The hotel itself is lovely and everything I would expect from this brand. Parking is VERY limited and even when there is availability in the lot, the spaces are on the smaller side so I did have to literally squeeze out of my vehicle. This is definitely something to consider, especially if you are, like me, any wider than a broomstick. I can’t comment on other parking in the area but given the fact that there is a security guard posted at the door, I am guessing it may not be the safest area. What really brought this stay down for me was that the walls are PAPER THIN and there is NO type of insulation or buffer around the windows so I heard EVERY sound throughout the hotel ALL night long. I’m not even a particularly light sleeper but wow, was it tough to sleep. As a result, I find it kind of impossible to give this property a rating that makes sense, so 3 stars it is!

Stayed here for Parent’s Weekend. I am a Platnium Elite Bonvoy Member. Not a friendly welcome on arrival. The room I was given had a couch that is shredded on multiple sides and top of it. Couch should not be in any hotel room! I even took pictures it was so bad. Tried to stop at bar at 9:19 pm in lobby, but it was closed even though on website it says until 11 pm. Definitely a lower end Marriott with nothing special and not worth the price at all! Even parking is only if available. Closest parking garage, and their recommendation is in a bad part of town.

Shortly after checking in, I forgot to ask something, so I called, but nobody answered my call, so I walked to the front desk. There was nobody there. I waited for a while but another guest told me that he was smoking outside. So I went out to find him. If he was the only one person who manned the front desk, I don't know how he could smoke outside for more than 10 minutes. I've never seen this in any other Marriott hotels in the world. I was glad that I didn't have any emergency. They served pretty good breakfast and the room was clean. So I'd give 4/5 star for my visit.

I'm a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member (Titanium) and am at this Residence Inn property weekly for work lately. It's a new, really nice looking property. Everything is top-of-the-line from the lobby to the gym to the guest rooms. I really like the comfy beds and roomy bathrooms. It really does feel like home. The area the hotel is in is not great, however. It's a little dodgy, but walkable during the daytime. The problem with this hotel is the staff. I don't know where they do the hiring, but it's becoming problematic. The employees are quite rough-around-the-edges. There are times I've gone to reception and the staff member is on their phone, playing a game or texting, and they act so bothered that I'm there. Other times, they're on personal calls. One time, the girl had her lunch on the counter while she was checking me in. This is on top of the security they have posted at the door who are so unfriendly and ALWAYS passed out asleep in the early mornings when I check out. On one of my most recent visits, I had just checked into my room when a hotel employee came banging on my door. I opened it and he abruptly asked when I checked in. I told him maybe 20 minutes ago and he walked off. Then a few minutes later, he came and banged again. This time he was with the guy from the front desk. I opened the door and the front desk guy just looked at me and said to the other guy, "Yeah, that's him" and they both left. I've never encountered anything so awkward and unprofessional in my years of hotel stays. This staff really lets the hotel down and need retraining. This is un update to a previous review I did, as the staff have gone downhill here.

The Residence Inn is still relatively new so the amenities and rooms are great! The rooms are spacious and outfitted with every accessory you could need for your daily living as well as any business activities. I’ve been able to set up a mini office in the living room and host my online client meetings comfortably, and the wifi is excellent! And I can’t say enough about the layout, it’s just practical! Whoever designed these rooms clearly understands what we need when we travel. Finally, the staff are all really great. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Nothing is a problem and they’re always willing to help. I’m really glad I chose the Residence Inn for my first visit to Boston, they kept me healthy, energized and able to give my 100%. Love you guys!

So impressed with this hotel- excellently maintained and looks new. Rooms are set up great- full beautiful fridge and great wine glasses! Roomy space - great decor. We were 1.6 miles from Brigham hospital so this was perfect. Kivens at front desk was helpful and we got a free shuttle we booked the night before to the hospital. It stops at 3 pm, though. Excellent breakfast options, the woman who runs it does a superb job and very friendly. Will be back

We’re loyal Marriott Bonvoy members and have stayed at all their branded hotel chains. Our stay here exceeded my expectations. Although the (newish) hotel is a little south of the city center, and not in the best area, we felt safe walking about during the day. The hotel is about a mile from the MFA and Gardiner museums. There’s a bus stop just outside the hotel too, which makes it easy to use public transport to navigate the city. The front desk and dining room staff were exceptionally nice, professional, and accommodating. One morning, I observed the kitchen staff going above and beyond to assist a guest who made a special request. The rooms were impeccably clean and well designed. We loved the big shower! My pet peeve is hotel rooms that don’t have well designed window treatments, so a ribbon of sunlight shines through the edge of the window covering and wakes you up in the morning. I was impressed that our room had special light blockers along the edge of the window frame so this wouldn’t happen. You can tell someone thought of the traveler’s needs when designing the room. All in all, this is a very nice hotel and one in which I will stay in the next time we travel to Boston.

If there's any indication of what kind of neighborhood this is, there is a security guard stationed just inside the entrance (a security guard who is usually passed out asleep when I leave the hotel at 5am). The staff are fine - sometimes they acknowledge my status and welcome me back and sometimes they don't. Overall, this is a solid property that is very comfortable if you need to be in this area.

Do not make a reservation here! We booked thru a 3rd party and we’re told 10 minutes before checking in that our reservation was being cancelled due to “maintenance issues” at this hotel. Despite being a frequent Bonvoy member, the supervisor was unhelpful and rude and basically told my family and I we needed to find somewhere else to stay for the night. Terrible service. Avoid this place. Pretty cruddy area also. Better places to stay around Boston.
