I recently stayed at the Wyndham while my husband recovered from surgery at Mass General. The location was perfect, a three minute walk. The hospitality was so very appreciated during this stressful time. Everyone from the front desk, bellman, housekeepers and waitstaff at The Deans List were wonderful.
I live in Maine, which is about a 4hr drive to Mass General Hospital. My mother was having a procedure and unexpectedly had to end up staying. I needed to find a place close by within walking distance. This hotel was not only a hop skip and jump from my mom/parked car, I was also able to provide info about the situation and got a medical discount. Would stay here again in a heartbeat for any reason that brought me to the area. Thank you for being so courteous and understanding to my situation.
Walking distance to MGH. Also great proximity to all things Boston, North End, Quincy Market, Beacon Hill, the Esplanade, Back Bay, Boston public garden. We walked everywhere. Also right next to a Whole Foods and a CVS.
The hotel houses students, so anyone has access to your floor, as the elevator is a revolving door with street level access. The rooms haven’t seen an upgrade in over 20+ years, and you might not even get a clean room. The beds are 4 inches thick. Just a complete dive!
Pros: Great Location to MGH. Super friendly staff. Restaurant staff was very friendly and food was good. We stayed in a King executive suite. It was good for space. Happy we had the fridge. Laundry on site for only $2 each. Easy to get to whole food and CVS. Cons: Bed is super uncomfortable!! Staying for a week and seriously considering buying a topper. No continental breakfast. Need to buy detergent at CVS. I wish there was a dispenser you could purchase individual ones from. This being said, we have booked again and will stay. Just hoping to get a much better med!!!!
After reading all the negative reviews I was even more pleased with my stay. Everyone was very friendly and thr room was clean and comfortable. The wellness room mattress was wonderful. Not a fancy place but for the price....perfect
Hotel location was great and the service was as well. The room was very tiny and the beds were uncomfortable. There are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms unless you pay. There were limited TV channels and the ones available did not play.
Very average. Hotel and rooms are well worn and tired. Rates are reasonable for the experience. You get what you pay for in this instance. Location is not the best as most attractions are a 15 to 20 minute walk away. Valet parking cost is scandalous at $US58 per night.
The best possible location for an outpatient procedure at MGH. Worth the $$. Parking in the MGH garage is only $15 per day, they will validate when you show them your hospital wristband. 24 hour CVS and whole foods market are just a short walk. The upper floors facing front have a beautiful view of the city.
Pros: Friendly staff. Comfortable beds with the best pillows I've ever had in a hotel. Terrific location for all the central Boston sights and Mass General Hospital and Mass Eye and Ear. Flour Bakery + Cafe, Whole Foods and CVS are right on the doorstep. The location means everything is easily walkable or accessed by transit. Cons: Lackluster upkeep and general sloppiness. I stayed a week and the housekeeping cart remained parked in my hallway for 3 days, apparently without being touched. The house phone was pulled out from the wall and not repaired for 4 days. It took two more days to vacuum up the mess on the floor. One evening when I went out, someone was smoking pot by the bellman / valet desk. Whether it was an employee on duty or not I don't know but as a woman alone I was uncomfortable there. The management should be paying more attention. The lighting in the rooms is all a dull yellow, even in the bathroom, which makes applying makeup a challenge. I really wished for clear white lightbulbs. Bottom line: I'd stay again and recommend to friends. There is so much to love about this hotel. The administration could make it a real gem with just a little consistent attention to details and upkeep. …
