The two best things about this hotel are 1- price, and 2- location. The hotel, right across the street from the Boston Public Library and Copley Square, leaves the traveler right in the heart of Boston. Public transportation (the T) is located only steps from the front door, and the Charlesmark benefits from many nearby restaurants. While other travelers claim...

The Charlesmark Hotel is an excellent, small hotel. It only has 33 rooms and it's in a great location in Boston. I do live in the greater Boston area but some friends come up annually for a convention. We found this hotel 3 years ago and it was a great find. Rates are less than the larger hotels in Boston....

The Charlesmark is a hidden gem. My son and I traveled to Boston for an audition at Berklee College of Music and this was the perfect place to stay. The hotel is located just steps from the Copley stop on the Green line. It has a trendy, boutique feel to it. The staff was excellent - very helpful. I asked...

First time at the CharlesMark and I will certainly go back! The girl at the front desk was extremely helpful, the bar staff was great - friendly, entertaining, great martinis. The room we had was fabulous. Clean, modern - everything you need. It was great walking into the room with the lights dimmed, a great smell and classical music playing...

I picked the Charlesmark because it was the most reasonably priced hotel I could find in the area. It wound up being a great find- it was clean, the staff was helpful, and the location very convenient to all our sightseeing. There are also lots of bars, restaurants and shopping in the area. The hotel has a very nice bar...

Very easy to find from the underground station. Rooms small by American standards but big enough for a couple of days stay. The one down side was the air-conditioning - it was very hot when we arrived in Boston so we had to use the air-con. Our unit was noisy and so was the one in the room next door....

My recent stay at the Charlesmark was outstanding. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel has a wonderful design and atmosphere. Everything we asked for we received and the martini bar in the lobby was busy but comfortable. There were holiday parties going on in the lounge area but services were still available to the guests...

We have just arrived back in England from Boston and three nights at this hotel. I have always trusted Tripadvisors comments as we travel quite extensively, but were they wrong this time! As soon as we walked into the foyer I could tell what we had let ourselves in for, black and grey was the greeting, it continued in the...

Please ignore this review. While everyone is entitled to their opinion....this is more of a rambling incoherent personal attack instead of a helpful review. Facts: Our award winning decor was by Duffy Design Group of Boston. Voted the best design firm in Boston many times. Please view on line pictures and decide for yourself. Thanks for your consideration. Sincerely, Mark...

November 15-18, 2007 Trip Advisor member, Auburn, AL My wife, daughter , her boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Charlesmark. Staff is beyond terrific, Great modern design, exceptional location and very good rates. We like small European like hotels, as close as we have found in the US....We would look no further in our next visits.......Gaines Blackwell

I stayed at the Charlesmark Hotel Nov. 17-Nov. 20 for a conference. I choose the Charlesmark based on location and the good reviews on Tripadvisor. The location is outstanding. Right in the heart of copley square with loads of restaurants and shops nearby. As for the hotel, the staff and rooms were excellent. The staff was very helpful with directions...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
