My wife and I were looking for a place to stay during our visit to Boston a few years ago. We wanted something near the city center, but quite, and found it in the Taylor House. This beautifully restored Victorian home offered all the amenities we wanted. The breakfast is worth getting up in the morning for! Daryl, Dave and...

This was our first stay in Jamaica Plain, a neighborhood of Boston that we found a bit noisy and littered, but diverse and vibrant. The Taylor House is situated down a quiet street, close to Jamaica Pond. The old house is quite elegant, and we found our room to be comfortable, if not overly spacious. The bathroom (and sink) were...

Our daughter lives in JP and we really enjoy staying at Taylor House when we come to visit. All of the rooms are nice and spacious. The bathrooms have great fixtures and nice tiles. Good bed linens and towels. Everything is well-designed and well-cared for. Breakfast is a help-yourself affair which we prefer since you can help yourself when you...

Lovely, quiet, immaculate, pleasant, pet-friendly, 19th Century house(s) within walking distance to restaurants, shops, the pond, everything that downtown Jamaica Plain has to offer. Convenient parking, if you have a vehicle. Easy access to public transportation for the rest of Boston and beyond. And, breakfast? Daryl's breakfasts are The Best. Interesting guests to meet at breakfast, too.

I've stayed at Taylor House three times and just loved it. The rooms are beautiful, the suite on the third floor is great for a family. Breakfasts are delicious, especially the tarts. The location is in a great neighborhood of nicely kept old houses, and right near Jamaica Pond and the Arnold Arboretum, a few blocks from cool coffee shops...

The first impression is overwhelmingly astounding. The details in the architecture and the rich colors in each room made me feel like I was entering another time period. The room was not only comfortable, clean, impeccably decorated, but no detail was forgotten to ensure comfort and convenience. The staff was helpful, friendly and thorough. This was probably the best lodging...

We stayed at the Taylor House while visiting our son who lives in Jamaica Plains. Loved everything about our stay. The rooms were interesting from the art work to room design. Breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed our morning chats with other guests and Dave and Darryl. We shall return!!

We stayed at the Taylor House Bed and Breakfast inn last year when our first grandchild was born. Our kids (the new parents) live in Roslindale and chose this establishment for us to stay in as we met for the first time the newest (and youngest) member of our family. While we were at the Taylor House, we met another...

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighbourhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
