Great location on Commonwealth Avenue. Large room, private bath. Different type of location, but as advertised. Quaint. Continental Breakfast was perfect, though a banana would have been a nice breakfast addition. No TV in room, not really a problem. Room needs a work desk for the business traveler, but again not what it was advertised to be, and I made due.

My daughter and I have stayed here twice. It is in an excellent location (Commonwealth Ave. 1 block from Boston Common). The rooms we stayed in were large and tastefully decorated with clean private bathrooms. The beds were adequate. Breakfast is your basic continental breakfast. Upon checkout, if you are not leaving Boston just yet, your luggage may be stored...

The location is really good --- near the Boston Common and the Alington Subway Station. The room is big and really comfortable. The staff are really friendly and always ready to give advice on tourism.

This is a brownstone belonging to a long-established women's club in Back Bay/Boston. It's in a superb location so if you don't mind having only a few amenities, it's good. Price point can't be beat in this part of the city. Excellent access to lots of sight seeing and subway/T system. Accommodations are in need of new paint, repair, etc....

Recently some friends and I who attended college in Boston got together for one of our frequent gatherings. One suggested we stay at CCB and we all agreed we will never stay anywhere else from now on! Perfectly situated in the city and cozy and warm in every regard. Cannot wait to return with family and friends!

This is a B & B that is also an actual meeting place for members of The College Club of Boston, so the breakfast room and other rooms were swarming with ladies at meetings each of the four days we stayed there. We particularly felt like intruders in the breakfast room, supposedly a place where you can get coffee or...

Deb, Thank you for your honest, thoughtful evaluation of our property. We do regret the lack of heat during your brief stay. But we are happy to report that we now have a new furnace, and heating is no longer an issue. We are saddened to hear that you felt uncomfortable or unwelcome in the common areas of the building....

A little gem in Boston's Back Bay. Room was a nice size, and faced the street. We opted for a private bath. Bathroom clean and nicely appointed. Windows were old and blinds did not close adequately. Window AC unit loud and filter needed cleaning. We opened the windows to get some fresh air, but the room would have benefited from...

The BackBay neighborhood location is perfect for a stay in Boston. Near the Boston Common, Newbury St., great restaurants, and a T station. There is even an Old Time Trolley Station within a short walking distance. Accomodations were perfectly lovely and safe. Very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast area is very homey and many selections offered. Coffe, tea and cookies...

We found this hotel to be charming and romantic. I would recommend the larger rooms with private baths. Our room was 425 on the front of the building. The hotel is a half block away from the Boston city park and within walking distance of some fine restaurants.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
