We stayed 2 nights in August 2012 and from the onset had amazing service from Donald. It was a busy weekend in Boston due to a conference and he helped us find another hotel for the 1st night and with car rental (to drive to Maine). We were on the top floor (5th floor?) and enjoyed our room, it was...

This was beyond expectations. The entire place is beautifully appointed and exquisitely old Boston Victorian-1940s style. The holiday decorations were astounding. Every floor! The stairways were worth walking up and down. It gives one a unique look into the past and how this building has stood up over time. We had the Simmons room. It is a large high ceiling...

This is not like a traditional B&B. What you do get: a big room (we had a queen size bed on the top floor) with private bathroom, a continental breakfast, a fabulous location (5 mins from the Public Gardens, 10 mins from Boston Common and in the heart of the Back Bay district) What you don't get: any interaction with...

We stayed for one night in the College Club and we loved the beautiful decorated, large and quiet room. Quiet is notable because we had a room in the front close by the Commonwealth Avenue. Location in the center of Boston was great; 1 minute walk and you are in Newbury street or in the Public Garden. The reception was...

We stayed for 2 nights this September. We caught the train from New York City to Boston and finding the B&B was easy. Check in was very straightforward and fast and when I saw the room it was exactly as I imagined. We stayed in the Simmons room and it was enormous, especially compared to the room we had spent...

We were delighted to find this B&B! It's centrally situated and within walking distance of many attractions in Boston. Our room was beautifully furnished, very large and comfortable. The continental breakfast perfectly good, the staff very friendly and drinks and snacks are available all the time. If you want smart and trendy, this is not the place for you, but...

I agree with a previous reviewer that the College Club is a hidden gem. It is located on a quiet street in the Back Bay about a block to the beautiful Public Garden. I drove into Boston and was able to easily find the College Club using the clear directions on their website. (Make sure you get the door code...

I was drawn to this B&B by the pic of the hall on its website. During my stay, the hall was not opened for any events. i did not have the chance to get a glimpse of the beautifully decorated event hall. The B&b is located in Backbay area-a safe district for females to walk alone in the evening. All...

This is, indeed, a hidden gem! Great neighborhood within two blocks of the pretty Public Garden, and within a block of great shops and restaurants. I had a single room with very high ceilings with a shared bath and it was cozy, had pretty antique furniture, including a desk, a small chest of drawers, a chair and a four-poster bed....

I stayed here one night in September with my daughter, and we both loved it. The location was just perfect. Easy to get to via public transportation from the airport, and a quick stroll through the gardens to Beacon Hill or the freedom Trail. We walked to the North End for dinner. After dinner we couldn't wait to get back...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
