What a great experience! Really friendly staff, extremely clean rooms and facilities, respectable other hostellers. Very happy and will recommend!!! I had to switch paying by card to cash last minute which was not a problem. Also arrived way later than I was initially set out to as my flight into Boston was delayed - also was not a problem.

I'm not usually a hostel stayer, but a solo trip to Boston where in-town room rates soar through the roof made me try HI Boston. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and it was as good as a hostel stay could be. They have clean rooms and restrooms. The showers are in individually locking rooms with toilet and sink....

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Especially coming from a non frequent 'hostel stayer', we couldn't be happier that you liked the place and enjoyed your stay. Check us out again and in other cities as well. Take Care. MJ

Exactly what you want from a hostel: very clean rooms and bathrooms, tidy, nice lounge and kitchen, and friendly helpful staff. They also have plenty of organised activities planned each day that are worth joining. I would happily stay here again, without a second thought.

As far as hostels go, this is the best one I've stayed in, friendly staff, relatively clean, very spacious and awesome for storage. The only down sides are the food, the lack of hostel run events and the price. The free breakfast was very much unappealing, the bread tasted stale and the orange juice tastes off but at least it...

We stayed in a private room. Amenities included a hair dryer, coffeemaker, iron and ironing board, plus it had a bathroom. The sink in the bathroom was square, so not that functional as water had a hard time draining. Elevators were fast. Breakfast, consisting of fruit, bagels, toast(3 types of bread, sometimes 4), cereal, yogurt was served on the second...

Hi Boston Hostel is an excellent place with nice and helpful staff. I do recommend it to every one who likes a good place. Everything was OK in my view. The rooms are big enough for you to walk. The lockers and different facilties are excellant too. The breakfast is also an advantage for the hostel.

Hostelling International has unfriendly employees. I had a reservation, but this reservation was canceled by Hostelling International. When I arrived after 12 hours of check in time, they told me because I came late, they canceled my reservation and charge me $56.68. I explained to them my situation and the reason for coming late. My flight arrived late, and I couldn't...

great experience when I was in Boston, the best place with pretty much everything is walking distance and to South Station too! Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
