We choose this hotel mainly due to its downtown location (it was our last stop on our road trip through New England and the Maritimes). We are glad we did. Parking is very easy (simply drive into their garage and let the valet guys do the rest). The staff at check-in was very friendly and professional (they also called me...

Best parts of the hotel were the room and gym/spa. The room was very spacious, mine was a corner room, beds extremely comfortable. Brand new state of the art very large screen TV. Good desk for workspace and top shelf bathroom. Gym was excellent and steam bath/massage available. Downstairs bar/restaurant could have been better with more extensive late night menu....otherwise...

My favorite hotel in town as it is perfectly located for business meetings, offers immaculate service and excellent rooms. I particularly like having sufficient power sockets in various places in the rooms, a well stocked mini bar and efficient and high quality room service. The hotel also has a great restaurant for casual or business lunches. I will surely return.

We had a work conference at the Intercontinental and it was great! The room was comfortable, and the food was very tasty. I also stayed at the Intercontinental and the room was just gorgeous. The bed and desk were extremely comfortable. There was a giant shower, and a soaking tub that was situated so you could soak and watch tv,...

We had an OK experience of staying at the Intercontinental Hotel. Based on the cost, I was expecting to be blown away! Our room was very comfortable. The view was horrible...we had to keep our curtains drawn at all times because the office building next to us was very close. We had no view at all...so disappointing! Also, the bed...

We popped up for a long weekend and a Bruins game. As always the resort was fantastic. This has become our favorite resort in Boston. Elegant and relaxing - a hard combination to find! Adam, at the concierge desk was on point, as always. He suggested a wonderful, historic oyster bar. Make sure to tap into his expertise.

Clean, comfortable room with extremely friendly staff. I was able to walk anywhere in the Financial District within a few minutes and was about 10 minutes from Faneuil Hall. Also less than a 15 minute walk to the convention center.

This hotel was beautiful! I stayed in a King Deluxe Room, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. I am holding another event here in May, 2016 because the level of service was impressive. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel.

First of all the Hotel, in a word, is magnificant. This was our third time staying here and it was excellent! Great location and close to Faneuil Hall (restaurants, shopping and bars) and it's right on the Boston Harbor. The room was inpeccablly kept and the personality of the maid service was genuine, friendly and kind. The concierge we dealt...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
