If you want a place to stay in the heart of the city, The Taj is your hotel. The views are breathtaking and the service and attention to detail is outstanding. I am a repeat/yearly customer and love The Taj.

The location is excellent , but the beds were not comfortable. Me and my wife were talking about how in other countries a 4 star hotel has to provide above and beyond, luxurious amenities etc. to earn and keep that rating. I feel domestically all you need is an excellent location, good service and reputable brand name. Improve on the...

We had a corner room facing west along Newberry St. On the 15th floor. Lovely view. The owners respect the hotel's heritage but the beds were very comfortable and the rooms are well furnished. Nice continental breakfast M - F a la carte in restaurant on Sat. Fantastic position near the Park,Metro green line.lovedit!

We had a great experience at the Taj, which was chosen due to its great location. Despite a mix up (my fault) on the date, the staff handled it smoothly and expertly. We enjoyed a well appointed room, comfortable bedding, and excellent staff. The Indian cuisine at the restaurant was perfection. We would dine there any time in Boston. Not a...

When this property was a Ritz Carlton I visited it several times, mostly on business. On this latest trip, I thought I would give the Taj management a chance to demonstrate that the hotel is still great. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Let me start with the positives: 1) location on the Public Garden is awesome, 2) the Bar...

From the moment we arrived the staff were really friendly and helpful. Hotel room was lovely with everything we needed at hand from bathrobes to mini bar, the Taj is within walking distance of all the main sighs and if you don't fancy walking the underground rail system is just outside. Right opposite the Hotel is Boston Public Garden which...

Stayed in 7 hotels in America different cities in the space of 3 weeks in November 2015, on paper this should have been the best. 5 lads in their 20's I can't imagine is their usual clientele, however until we checked in we were looked at and treated like we'd just rolled a wheelbarrow of horse manure into their lobby....

Friendly and intimate. For the price, nicely sized and appointed rooms with the history of one time being the Ritz. Better location than the four seasons at nearly 1/2 the price. Better rooms than the Plaza at only slightly more

Hotel needs renovation. Looks old. Lobby is quite small. If the hotel is renovated and gets a new look it will be a fantastic hotel. The service in the cafe is fine though the front office is not very friendly.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
