I had to come to Boston for a conference and the Taj was our company's recommended hotel. It did not disappoint. It was very clean and quiet. The location is fantastic since it is right across from Boston Commons and near great shopping. It was a great experience.

A Taj experience in Boston. Needless to say that its excellent in every respect. Took the executive suite and it was a very large and comfortable room. The location is at the beginning of Newbury Street and Boston Comons and this is one of the best and most central locations in Boston.

What a lovely room we had overlooking the park and 1/2 block walk to Newbury St and 1 block walk to Commonwealth Ave. The staff was wonderful, both professional and friendly. We couldn't have asked for anything more. A 10 star experience in every way!

We had a suite with a view overlooking the Public Garden on the 15th floor. Only thing that would have made my stay better was if we could have got in for the Sunday Brunch on the rooftop. Hopefully next time we are in Boston we can do this!

I had the sheer delight of staying here for two nights recently. Check in was friendly and efficient, and I was given a complimentary upgrade to a park view suite, which was gorgeous. The suite had a large living room with a fireplace overlooking the Boston Commons with a comfy sofa and two arm chairs. The queen size bedroom was...

I shall start saying I was able to get an amazing rate at this hotel, and as such I didn't complain to management about anything. However, had I paid full price I would have been SUPER annoyed. This is in a perfect location for exploring Boston. The hotel is older, and it does show some wear throughout. Stains on the...

My wife and I recently stayed 2 nights at the Taj Boston. Great old elegant hotel kept up very well. Couldn't be a better location as far as taking a walk to see the sights of Boston. The service was excellent. The front desk gave us a complimentary room upgrade to a suite because we arrived extra early and that...

This hotel was formerly the Ritz Carlton, and not much has changed since TAJ took it over. We stayed here because it's right on the Public Garden, and it's great to be able to cross the street and be right there. You're also on Newbury Street, and within walking distance to a lot of attractions. The staff is top notch...

Lovely hotel and location, staying at what was the Ritz. Slightly over priced food and drink. Not really sure how to justify a very continental breakfast for any more than a few dollars, there are many breakfast joints within easy walking distance, we just went round the corner.

I was very disappointed staying here. Only one third of the staff we interacted with made us feel welcome. The rest varied from uninterested to just plain rude. The dress code is the most over-the-top I've seen, banning T-shirts from breakfast. On the plus side, the view from our Garden View room was really good, and the room was clean...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
