My wife and I stayed at the Taj during the Boston Marathon. The hotel is very convenient as it is close to the Boston Common bus departures to Hopkinton and is ideally situated near the end of the finish line processing. The staff was both professional and friendly. The room was clean and stylish. We booked through Marathon Tours. We...

Excellent hotel. I would give the location, staff, hotel and amenities the highest marks possible. I would stay here every time I travel to Boston. I enjoyed walking across the street and viewing the city garden and Boston Commons. The hotel is easy walking distance to every thing.

Very friendly staff- top to bottom. Highly recommend to others. It is also very convenient to walk to most popular sight seeing and shopping destinations in Boston. Cleanliness, customer service and amenities were excellent even considering price range of hotel.

We were in Boston this past weekend for a "fun baseball and tourist" trip. We arrived at the Taj early in the morning and were greeted by a wonderful friendly gentleman, James, who offered us all coffee. Nice touch! Our rooms weren't ready as it was early and a busy weekend, so they were stored for us and we left...

The staff is really helpful and nice. The hotel has one of Boston's most beautiful parks in front and is on the luxury shops street. It also has a nespresso shop nearby which was a nice surprise. Gym open 24 hours was perfect for our jetlag.

Very elegant hotel across from Public Garden. Can't beat the location, the staff was very helpful, and our room was extremely comfortable. Terrific fitness center too -- lots of room, comfortable temperature, well attended.

The Taj is very centrally-located, abd convenient for most tourist sights. It's a bit pricey, but I suppose that's only to be expected for the quality of hotel. I was surprised that there wasn't on-site parking.

This 5 star hotel was like a palace to me as a kid growing up in the suburbs of Boston. We came to the hotel then for tea. I have always wanted to stay here. I had read a hotel rating a few years ago that the hotel was in need of repair and that it had lost its shine...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
