I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Custom House. Not only is it beautiful on the outside, it is beautiful and comfortable on the inside. The lobby and first floor feel and look like a museum. They have s whole floor dedicated to entertainment. My three year old LOVED the jungle gym, blocks, kitchen set, horseshoe set, and many...

We stayed here for an overnight get away with friends last weekend. Easy drive in from the North shore of Boston, great location, and building has lots of character. The only downside is the price for valet overnight parking. It was $32.00. Actually for Boston that's rather low but still you would hope since you're staying at the hotel they...

That pretty much sums up our opinion about Marriott's Custom House. The good things: 1. The building is historical. For history buffs such as ourselves, this was a true gem. 2. Our suite was beautifully appointed. 3. Location, location, location. Period! 4. The views are wonderful. We stayed at 1101 so the views weren't as spectacular as it would have...

The location is excellent and the room is fantastic, the king size bed is nice. My children loved the game room. The observatory was a plus. Staff was very nice too. We had a wonderful stay and no doubt will be back.

If you are in town as a tourist this is a great location. All the historic spots are within easy walking distance. If you want to travel further, the subway station is about 15 yards from the front door. If you want a view of the city and the harbor, you can take the elevator to the top of this...

Fantastic location, beautiful building, suite is amazing. The views from the observation deck were worth it alone, but is it special to be in such a historic building in the heart of the historic district in downtown boston.

Location is fantastic! Restaurants, Quincy Market, Freedom Trail stops, and subway, all in very close proximity. I can't imagine a more convenient location. We were able to stretch out in our suite after sightseeing all day during our Springbreak trip. The observation deck offers beautiful views of the city. From check-in to check-out and the concierge - all of the...

My wife and I were fortunate to spend two nights at this hotel last week for our 6th month anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we were completely blown away! The entire staff was extremely courteous and helpful, especially Eric, Barbara, Christine and Yvon. We were given the "eagle suite" which includes your own private balcony that offers a SPECTACULAR...

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely property with a suite overlooking the harbor and Logan Airport. It was awesome and very comfortable. The bad news was that it was bitter cold outside and the cold air was blasting through the windows. I was surprised that air tight windows were not installed when the property...

Most unique Marriott that I have been to. Originally the building was the Custom House in Boston. In 1915, the U.S. government expanded the facility by adding a tower on top. For years, it was the tallest building in Boston. At one point the counting room took in 20% of the U.S. Governments total revenue. Now the "counting room" is...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
