We have stayed here twice because the location is the best for getting the whole Boston experience. The rooms are simple but clean and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. The downstairs bar offers a nice happy hour and the outside seating is perfect for relaxing and people watching.

Nice hotel, good facilities, clean, good sized rooms. Ideal location to explore the Freedom Trail. Lots of restaurants, pubs, shops and historic locations nearby. We enjoyed being able to walk to most of the pints of interest and had some great meals. Service in Irish Pubs was mixed - some were very average and the focus on tipping was disconcerting...

This hotel is in a great location - close to the harbor, Freedom Trail and may other Boston sights within walking distance and there is an Old Town Trolley Hop-On/Hop-Off stop right outside the door. After previously staying at a Doubletree in Boston this same trip, it was really nice to come back to the Harborside Inn because it was...

This hotel is definitely budget but it's location is superb for seeing Boston. We arrived late and the check in was a shambles. We were given rooms on the ground floor clearly as the rest of the hotel was full with a promise we could move tomorrow which we did. Second day we got rooms on 6 and 8 floors...

I stayed here for 5 nights for business - great location, right on the Blue T line, 10 minutes walk to Washington and Milk Street, 3 minutes to Quincy Market, 5 to the waterfront. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Fridge in the room with 24 hr market next door. Shower only. Starbucks in hotel for breakfast - bar open...

Ideal location for historic Boston. Near freedom trail and harbor. Room was small but clean with a good shower. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. No coffee in room but a Starbucks in the lobby.

Like most people we did extensive research prior to booking a room. We settled on the Harborside Inn and we were not disappointed. The location was perfect... in the center of Boston's downtown. It is also 2 blocks from the waterfront as well as in the center of the spectacular "Freedom Trail". Quincy market is just across the street with...

Our room was small and dark. Didn't look complete. A ten foot mirror leaning against the wall. Large HDTV, miniscule refrigerator and an ice bucket. No cups, glasses or coffee pot. Large bathroom with two small plastic glasses and many handicapped bars. Breakfast is bought in the lounge in the lobby. Coat closet only holds three to four garments. Not worth...

We chose the Harborside Inn because it was close to the harbor and the Italian neighborhood - and it was a great location. We got a very spacious room, and were very pleased with the staff. There is a Starbucks in the hotel for breakfast but lots of other choices close by. Try Anthony's cafe at Commercial St. for a...

The location is brilliant and right in the middle of the action in Boston. Unfortunately, the hotel was very expensive and hence not good value. The over night lighting in the area most of the window face is ultra violet and penetrates into the rooms, because the blinds are ill fitting and inadequate. The renovation and design of the rooms...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
