The DoubleTree by Hilton Boston Bayside receives mixed feedback from guests. While the rooms are often described as spacious and the beds comfortable, some travelers express dissatisfaction with outdated furnishings and maintenance concerns. The hotel's atmosphere is generally considered welcoming, and its cleanliness earns praise, particularly for the housekeeping staff's efforts. Amenities such as the shuttle service are appreciated, though there's a sentiment that certain aspects could benefit from an update. The service is frequently lauded for its professionalism, yet a few guests recount less than satisfactory encounters. Opinions on the hotel's value and location are split, with some citing high costs and an inconvenient setting affected by nearby construction, while others appreciate the easy access to the airport and public transportation.

The location is so remote that taxi, Uber or Lyft expenses are necessary. Thus the cost for our stay is expensive that we could have stayed in downtown Boston. There are no eateries within 5-10 minute walking distance.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that our location was not to your liking. We are in walking distance to many attractions such as the JFK Library, Carson Beach and Downtown is a few stops away on the nearby Red Line. We are disappointed that we did not hit the mark with your stay but appreciate that you selected us for your Boston stay.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 4 nights and for are first time in USA it was well worth the money, staff were superb very friendly and always on hand to help, the restaurant in the hotel very good for breakfast with reasonable prices on food and drink, I highly recommend trying the southie burger with extra bacon! Thank me later 😉 location isn't the greatest however JFK/Mass subway station is about a 3/4 minute walk from the hotel and for $12 that allows you to travel around Boston unlimited all day. Housekeeping was excellent, very professional and rooms were cleaned to a excellent standard everyday, with fresh towels/shampoos available every day. All in all a great experience and we would definitely stay at the hilton again!

Stayed here on a previous visit some years ago. The hotel is comfortable with a breakfast service. Small bar but no draught ales. Staff very helpful.

500 yards away from the local Red line 'T' (train) Although a short train ride to downtown it is a quiet location but access into Downtown/Park Street (the start point of the heritage trail) is 10 minutes away. The free courtesy bus picks up at the Airport which is 20 minutes drive away. Also, Monday thru Thursday nights between 5pm - 10pm run the free shuttle to a number of restaurant/diners which is a plus as no nearby places to eat. A 15 minute walk takes you to the JFK/Library and museum which is a must visit experience. If a visit to the Sam Adams Brewery is on the list of things to do, the Orange Line (from Downtown) takes you to Stony Brook and the tour is very good with sample tastings and free commemorative small glass given to visitors.

I'm excited to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and that the team took care of all of your needs. I'm also happy to hear that our location worked well for you. While we're a little ways out of the downtown area, we are very accessible to I93 and the MBTA is right across the street, allowing easy access to downtown. Definitely come stay with us, as our rates are much more affordable than the downtown hotels. Thanks again, and we look forward to your next stay with us.

We chose this hotel since we had an early flight in the morning and didn't want to chance Boston traffic. This hotel offers long term parking and free shuttle service back an forth from the hotel from 5AM to 10PM. When we arrived, the desk clerk was very friendly and accomodating. He told us where we could park our vehicle and gave us a slip for the dash. He also recommended several local restaurants and actually gave us a printed list. He also mentuioned there was a small restaurant on site for salads, burgers and other lite fare. The room was very comfortable and clean. We requested an early wake up call and we actually got one at our requested time. Shuttle bus was quite filled but one couple opted to take an uber or cab and the desk clerk told them to get a receipt and the hotel would recompense them. Very satisfied with our stay, from the quality of the room, efficiency of the staff and the on site dining options.

Definitely room for improvement. Starting with airport transportation. I needed room last minute and for the price, this seemed the best choice. I've asked other properties in the past if they could pick up/drop off at rental car center, and more times than not, this request is granted. Was advised that they could not pick up at RAC but to go to outer curb where shuttle would pick me up. That is fine. It is NOT fine waiting for 50 minutes for a van. I get that there is Boston traffic but 50 min is a bit excessive. Had I not had to drag my bags to a completely different area I would have given up and just done an Uber.
3PM check in is advertised and when I asked why my digital key was not delivered at 4PM, "well, the room just isn't ready yet". WHY?? And if THAT room was not ready, why was another not offered?
Room is OK, although bed could have been more comfortable. There is a small fridge but no microwave.
There is a T stop right near property, but if you are in town for touristy things, you would be better off choosing a more convenient location.
Every other Hilton property I've visited in the last few months still leaves sanitizing wipes but none to be found here. States that masks are required but few other guests were wearing and it was not enforced. Don't state it as policy if its just a "suggestion".
Too many other choices in the city to make staying here in the future an option.

Not what you would expect from a hotel with the name Hilton in it. Rooms were just your typical rooms, not special. The door to the room had huge gaps to the hallway that allow light and noise in. Had one morning where the cable was out in the rooms and contact front desk to be placed on hold and never got through to anyone or a return call. Went to front desk to see about the issue and got a rude response from front desk. Nothing worse then a room without cable and nothing to do.There were several occasions were I witnesses the front desk roll there eyes at customers and/or give rude responses. Breakfast is not free and the buffet they do offer is way overpriced. This wouldnt be the place i would recommend to stay in boston.

Dear KelleyW869, thank you for taking the time to write a review about your experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston Bayside. I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you experienced with the cable tv, and our poor response in dealing with your enquiry. Unfortunately, at the time of our conversation with you, we were awaiting an update from the cable company as to the cause, as it was an area outage that did not just impact our hotel. The problem was resolved that day, and there have been no subsequent issues since. Thanks for sharing your feedback, as it offers us the opportunity to improve.

My wife and step son stayed at your location on Friday night, February 21 while visiting a college in Boston. My step son ordered a hot chocolate and paid for it with his debit card. The price was $4.01, but upon returning home late Saturday evening, he noticed that he had mistakenly been charged $44.01. No problem, mistakes happen. Upon calling the property on Sunday, we were told that the food and beverage manager had just left for the day and he was the "only" one that could fix the issue. We were further told that he would not return until Tuesday. I told him I would call back today (Monday) and talk to the property manager as it seemed ridiculous to have to wait for one person to fix a problem that multiple people should be trained to address. I called back today, and when I asked to speak to the overall manager I was again told that the food and beverage manager is the ONLY one who can fix this, so therefore there was no need to talk to the property manager. I asked what would happen if the food and beverage manager was away for two weeks on a vacation, and was told that in that instance he would train someone to address this type of issue. I let the young lady who answered the phone know that I found this to be ridiculous, and felt sure someone there could address the issue. I assured her that I would call back tomorrow to speak to the food and beverage manager. If it is indeed true that only one person can address these types of issues, I find that to be a poor example of customer service, and a poor use of resources. I am not happy with this at all. We will be coming to Boston occasionally to see our son, and this will color our decisions on where we stay. It is VERY IMPORTANT to note that both employees we spoke to were extremely polite, and as helpful as they could be.

Not familiar with area, booked based on Hilton name and free shuttle to downtown. Found out shuttle runs to Southside only and not the side of town with attractions or very clean. You want to stay near North Side so every day we took subway or train to downtown. Subway is a 5 min walk from hotel (saving grace). No restaurants or shops near hotel so dinner was another Uber or lift expense. At $230.00 per night just not worth the stay. Hotel employees were great and professional. No free coffee in lobby and the Starbucks in lobby is a joke as they only had regular bland coffee (at Starbucks regular expensive prices) and none of what makes Starbucks special. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable and tv was limited to 5 channels. No smart tv so I could not cast my subscriptions from my phone. Free airport shuttle was a joke as only runs from 6a to 9:30p. Our flights were 9:55p landed and 6:00a takeoff so we ubered to and from. Shower head in room should be adjustable but broken so only stiff blast of water. Wall Thermostat on ac broken so had to adjust from unit and reset several times per night no consistent temps. Lesson learned. Pay the extra money and stay on north side...would have made up for it on time and Uber trips.

This hotel is pretty terrible! It only caters toward business people, so if you are a common traveler or on vacation don't expect to be comfortable here! On site parking is $19 and no street parking in the area. We were awaked at 8am by a staff member using their key card to open our door. No knock or verbal communication saying that it was anyone such as Housekeeping. Luckily we had the security latch set, otherwise they would have just walked right in while we were sleeping! This was so confusing since we had just read a sticker on the mirror in the bathroom that said there would be no daily housekeeping and that you would have to call to request it. An hour after both me and my wife finally got back to sleep, a four man crew pulled up right outside our window and started leaf blowing at 9am. If you know how 3 blowers all running at the same time sounds, you know that it's impossible to sleep through. The heater/AC was also switching on and off making a loud clicking noise all night long that was also disruptive. Everything is clearly old, dirty and neglected here, and they don't care to modernize or fix anything. (Check out the huge weird stain on the ceiling of our room) When I brought up these issues with the lady who seemed to be the manager at the front desk she just told me that people who stay there are usually up at 8am so it's fine for housekeeping to walk into our room unannounced at that time. She had nothing to say about the work crew outside our window at 9am. I argued that checkout is at 12 noon so why did they wake us up at 8 and she had no answer. She begrudgingly and rudely refunded us $30 and said thats all she can do. We expected way more for the price we paid to stay here. Terrible customer service and terrible stay! Spend the extra $50 to stay somewhere that actually cares about their guests experience!

This would not have been my choice of accommodations in the Boston area. However, my daughter needed to stay there for a volleyball tournament, so off we went. The hotel is not close to anything one might want to see or do in Boston. The hotel does offer a free shuttle which was useful and efficient to get us back and forth to the convention center. Unfortunately, the hotel is not clean. The room was dirty-the first thing I saw when I walked into then bathroom was a hair-gross. The carpets are stained and there are piles of dust in all corners of the room. The window treatments were so old and grimy that I didn’t even want to touch them to let the light into the room. Note that there is no restaurant in the hotel. There is a small store where you can order some hot food but the service was painfully slow in there. With tons of hotels in the area, surely people can find a better option.

Rest assured that we have shared with our housekeeping team, so it can be addressed. I would also note that we are scheduled to replace drapes and carpet in all of our guest rooms this year, and we are in the process of adding a new 135 seat restaurant and bar, as well as a new Starbucks café, that will open within the next year. I do sincerely hope you will reconsider us for your next trip back to Boston, and have the opportunity to try our new amenities and upgrades.

Probably -- the front desk staff are very helpful, and a couple of times I saw bags stashed behind the desk, presumably for the same reason as yours. And unless the hotel is full, you'll probably be able to check in early. The breakfast is pretty expensive, but it's a good way for you to pass the time until check in.

They'll pick you up at any terminal. Just call or text them and they'll let you know where to wait. Unless they happen to be there already dropping of for picking up, it'll be about 20-25 minute wait.
