It was a cold weekend in Boston. Our stay at the Hotel Buckminster was cold, too. Our first room lingered at 60 degrees, despite a couple of attempts by the maintenance staff to fuss with the hardware. When we moved, one of the rooms of the suite was comfortable. The television didn't work- cable kept cutting out. Maintenance person couldn't...

We started our St. Patrick's Day weekend early by visiting Boston on March 15 to see the Dropkick Murphy's. The show was at the House of Blues so we decided to stay basically across the street at the Buckminster. We drove right into the city and stayed at the adjacent parking garage. We were welcomed at the front desk and...

I guess we thought it would be a little larger, and we weren't able to check in immediately because of how early we got there (not their fault, but a little heads-up is all). However, the location is amazing. We got off from the Green Line "T" at Kenmore, and our hotel was right across the street, practically, from the...

Dear Value Guest, I'm sorry we could not accommodate an early check-in. We only guarantee for rooms to be ready at 3 PM, our check-in time. We were sold out this past weekend, so we just did not have the room perfectly clean for you yet. Otherwise, we hope you choose us next time you visit Boston again ! Best,...

We have been staying here periodically for 4 years - our daughter is a senior at BU. Honestly , the factor that makes the difference between the Buck being "charming" and "a dump" - is the attitude of some of the staff. The rest of the reviews are right - old, run down, semi- clean. Lately though I have experienced...

Dear Valued Guest, Firstly, Congratulations on your daughter's accomplishments at Boston University. I apologize for your unsatisfied stay at our hotel. Our hotel is 120 years old, it is charming but sometimes needs some work, and we have been working diligently on some of our issues. I have passed along your message to our management team to ensure that your...

We were in Boston for Crash B's at Boston University. Here are our PRO'S -This hotel was very clean. I am not one to ever want to take a bath in a tub other than my own, but this place was spotless! - The location was perfect for Fenway, food, public transportation, etc, -The young gentleman at the desk was...

Yes, the location is great. But you do get what you pay for:shabby furniture, not very clean bathroom (someone elses hair and whatever visible in the corners; a bed so uncomfortable--soft and lumpy--that I literally pulled the bedding off and slept on the floor. Also, avoid the breakfast at the Grille -- eggs were OK but croissant was inedible. AND...

I read the TA reviews carefully before booking this property, and it turned out to be exactly what I expected. An older building that was likely an apartment building at one time. Nice front desk staff. Odd hallway configuration to find the tiny elevator, and similarly odd hallway on the 5th floor, where my room was located. Room was basic,...

The hotel offered a bargain price, and I took the gamble. Reception and staff were very welcoming. Room is basic and a bit shabby. Location is very good, easy 15 min walk to the Hayes Convention center.

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
