We stayed at Hilton Homewood suites for a week during Comic Con. The welcome from reception was excellent which set the tone for the week. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The additions of the ping pong table, football table and giant Jenga make downtime with the kids so enjoyable. B the pool and jacuzzi are excellent and the free breakfast is really good but don't leave it to the last minute to go down as it gets super busy and isn't fun. The rooms are also great, big and very well appointed!

Big shout out to Bruno in the bar... He is a legend. Whether you want a chat, some local tips or a special cocktail / mocktail... Bruno is the man!!

Brought my family for a two nights stay during Covid Independent Day and booked a "Studio room with bay view" weeks before the trip.
During the stay, there was no room service but you can call the room services for anything you need additionally. The room was clean and had everything we need for our stay . The location of hotel is really convenient with walking distance to both bay area and one of the most popular landmark of SD - Little Italy. Responding to the large amount of visitors craving for dine-out, the city was blocking the streets in that area for vehicles to access and allowed the restaurants to setup dinning tables outdoor and maintain appropriate "social distance" for dinners. We were so enjoying the walking distance to Little Italy during our trip.

There is only one inconvenient of which the hotel provide valid parking only and increased parking fee from $30.00 to $45.00 per night for the additional services.

We're appreciated the stay for the overall facilities were clean and neat.

To start, parking was $45/day, not mentioned while booking. Second the valet attendants were rude. The hotel provided cookware and utensils, the knives were so dull I almost lost a finger trying to cut a potato. Also, dish soap was provided but no sponge?! That’s just useless, we would have to run the dish washer and wait for clean dishes when I could’ve just washed them if provided a sponge. There’s no bath tub and our shower needed new stripping along the door cause it leaked while you were in it and the floor would be wet. And lastly, security needs to be present, there were people entering the hotel late at night that obviously weren’t staying there, that’s not safe. When a guest would scan their room key to enter, random people would walk in with them. Where’s security to prevent this. Overall, won’t be staying here again.

We stayed for one night and I would give it zero stars if I could, when we got to our room, we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds and 1 king bed, the first thing we noticed was the smell of the room, it smelled like old food or someone just cleaned out the fridge. There is also ZERO CELL SERVICE in the rooms, which is ridiculous for a 500$/night room. The bathroom had a broken toilet paper holder, the shower took 15 minutes to get hot and the water had a weird smell. There is also no bottle water in the room or filter water, only tap. As for the "hot breakfast" it said bell pepper eggs with cheese and there was no bell peppers, the eggs were cold, the waffles were cold, the Turkey sausage was cold and unchewable, the only thing hot was the coffee. We will not be staying here again.

We were excited to be able to book a hotel with such a large room, 2beds - slept the whole family + a kitchen, despite a pretty decent price tag. It was still cheaper than 2 rooms. I should have just kept looking. We arrived around 5, to find out their on site parking was completely booked. They clearly state it’s valet only. They don’t tell you until it’s too late that they can’t accommodate anywhere close to the number of rooms they have or that their only suggestion for parking was about a mile away, past the airport and train, with no in and out privileges. After going to get dinner, we arrived back after dark, and I’m so glad I dropped my young kids off at the hotel because I did not feel safe walking it at all, let alone with them. How hard would it be to have a shuttle, a valet that parks it at the off site parking, or at the very least a warning.

Additionally, when we got to the room, we found that the sofa bed was broken and wouldn’t fully open, our $400 room was directly above the lobby, with windows all opening to the lobby, but no exterior windows, multiple lights out, and blood smeared all over one of the showers.
We were also super bummed to find out that the pool was closed by the time we got back from our parking trek.

Overall, despite how cool the room is, I will never stay at this hotel again. I suggest you keep looking.

The location of this hotel gives easy access for many of the downtown and harbor attractions. It was also very easy to get to the airport and car rental area. The staff were exceptional, and the rooms were very clean and quiet. Parking was $45.00 daily, which was more expensive than any Hilton we have previously visited!

We booked a suite months in advance. We were told room was unavailable on check in but they would provide 2 standard rooms at no additional charge. Since it was the day of and I arrived with my party of 6, options were limited. We were told breakfast was available but it was not complimentary. After our stay I noticed my credit card was charged for both hotels. I left multiple messages for 3 weeks because only a manager was able to issue a refund once investigated and none were available. No one ever returned calls. While on hold I heard in the audio loop that plays that the breakfast was complimentary. I called corporate to file a claim, they called the hotel and were advised the manager on duty would look into it and issue refund within the allowed 3 days and call me back. 3 days later, no call, no refund. I called corporate, because the manager was not available when I called the hotel directly, they reached out and refund was processed. Someone named April processed it and acted as though I should be grateful that she issued the refund. Apparently they charged me for not checking into the original hotel (that they told me was unavailable) at the same site. When I asked her about the breakfast she informed me that the hotel they put me in does not get free breakfast (shared restaurant) however the hotel I originally booked had it as an amenity. She said I wasn't charged for breakfast. I said we didn't eat there because for $15pp party of 6, we ate elsewhere. She said that since there was no charge it should not be an issue. I said it is an issue because that is $200 I didn't need to spend on breakfast, especially since the suite that had a kitchen was not available. Once again the manager was supposed to call back to assist with the additional expenses and never called back. Horrible customer service!

OK place to stay, missing basic stuff like shower floor mat one day. One day they did not provide an extra roll of toilet paper when it was obvious there was little left the roll. The oatmeal was cold, wouldn't melt the butter

Spacious rooms, very clean, front desk agents are always helpful/kind. Parking valet are so nice, I don’t know what people are talking about with parking sucking! They’re always quick and I know I can trust them with my car. Craig, Austin - the entire crew are ALWAYS fantastic.

Room/housekeeping services are nice as well - they’re quick and will accommodate if you ask for extra items to be dropped off in the room.

In the month I’ve stayed here so far I’ve not had one issue, they’re very accommodating.

Hotel rooms were very nice and clean but the parking situation is horrible, I think that for the amount paid to stay there we should at least have a parking spot instead you either have to spend at least 30 min finding street parking or pay an additional $15-20 per day to park your car in some parking lot . It’s unbelievable. Instead of going up to your room to enjoy you go upstairs stressed .

Hi Jazmin, I'm sorry to hear about the parking frustrations you experienced during your stay. I can absolutely understand how difficult it is to find parking in Little Italy. We could have better communicated your different options upon check-in and I am sorry we dropped the ball there. I hope you will give us a second chance in the future. Thank you and take care!
