jehrich was very helpful with our stay at this hotel! very good service and understanding!! he helped us move rooms when our room we got was not the one we wanted. nice staff and a good hotel to stay at
The view was amazing from the third floor, the location was just perfect for getting to the beach, and the help from Jehrich was stellar following a mixup with our reservation due to planes potentially being cancelled due to weather up north. Highly recommend staying here!
I love this place! By the ocean. And next door to World Famous restaurant. Best customer service. Friendly people! Been staying there during the holidays for years. Highly recommend! You will love it@
We chose the Surfer Beach Hotel on our very 1st stay in San Diego and they earned our loyalty immediately! Jehrich is the MAN behind the counter, with invaluable local insight and genuine above-n-beyond attention to detail. We’ll be back!
Checked into Surfer Beach Hotel today and our front desk rep was Will. He was very friendly and efficient, and he actually took us to view 2 different rooms before choosing one. Excellent service and great attitude. Same good experience with a couple of post-check-in follow-up things. The room is clean and well laid out, with a partial ocean view (and we can hear the surf). We recommend Surfer Beach Hotel and appreciate Will's service.
We came to stay for a couple of days to destress. This hotel is literally steps away from the beach. This was our first trip in four years and we wanted to return to this hotel. This was our second great experience. The first one was in 2015 and left quite an impression! The staff is great, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The views are magnificent and you cannot beat the location! The prices are very reasonable considering its location. We LOVE this hotel and plan on making this our go to location for every trip to this area which we hope will be several times a year! Thank you so much for our great retreat!
This is a great budget hotel in the heart of Pacific Beach that is right on the ocean. It is a few feet from the boardwalk, and close to multiple restaurants, bars, and shopping. The hotel also has a great restaurant of its own! The staff was young, friendly, and helpful. I booked an ADA room because I had an injury which left me hobbled, so I don't know what a "regular" room looks like. But, what I received was spacious, the shower was enormous, and the bed was super comfy. There was also a fridge & microwave in the room. Additionally, I had a sliding door that led straight to the heated pool! Since it is budget, some of the finishings weren't perfect & the AC unit was portable. That didn't really take away from the overall, comfy experience, but bears mentioning. Parking is also a challenge in the area, so best to pay extra for a hotel parking space. Totally recommend this hotel👌…
The staff is amazing and welcoming. We needed a wine bottle opener and they brought it right up. Extra pillows, towels, really anything we wanted was provided quickly and always with a smile. The view of the ocean is awesome. We have been staying here for years and it is always incredible. The entire staff really wants to make your stay great.
I was looking for a hotel that was on the beach in San Diego, reason it was for a girls trip and I wanted the convenience of the beach. I looked at so many places between Carlsbad and Coronado for the right hotel; many had a number of disappointing reviews etc, and so I figured as I got closer to leaving for SD I had to book a hotel ASAP. I picked the Surfer Beach Hotel and I am so happy I did. If you have ever been to Pacific Beach you know that it has a boardwalk and lots of places to eat and drink; well all of them are a 3 star hotel status (well in my eyes) due to wear and tear of being by the ocean. We arrived later (10:30pmish) on a Thursday and they emailed me on Thursday morning to confirm our arrival time (I appreciate this so much as I knew someone would be there). When we arrived the front desk person was so helpful and nice, we got our keys and headed to our double bed Ocean view. When I opened the door I was in the bathroom (no joke) and then the beds, small room and dated. It's not modern (except the bathroom was upgraded - shower area only) or fancy. I was not sure at that time if I made the right choice, went to bed and woke up to the most beautiful sound of the waves and a view you can't beat. I texted my sister and told her the hotel was quaint to set her expectations. I wasn't sure she would like it; but if we are being honest you barely spend time in the room anyways because there is so much to do. It's in a location where you can walk to food, bars, get surf lessons, shop all of it. If you don't plan on exploring other areas of SD forget renting a car because you don't need it, you can walk to everything including the grocery store (Ralph's - 2 blocks away). I saw tons of gripes about having to pay $30 for parking but when you get there and realize the area the hotel is in you are going to pay for parking no problem. This is a hotel that you need to request housekeeping, the pool is not heated, and if you are particular about your shower items bring those as well. If you can get over the "aged" look of the hotel you will be fine. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the view is to die for. If you are paying those $250+ prices for these rooms get the view. I am going to make this an annual trip each year and stay here particularly; they care about you and your stay.…
The Surfer Beach Hotel is amazing. The staff make sure your stay is the best. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the views from the balcony are amazing. I come here all year long. Right on the beach, close to great food places.
