This hotel is nice and cute if you are staying for a quick trip. The rooms are very small so its ideal for someone who will not be staying in their room long. Its very nicely decorated and the window views are of little Italy. I enjoyed my stay here!

The La Pensione gives you a European hostel in Little Italy. The rooms are small and have just the amenities you need. After all, you are only going to sleep and shower here. We had a great view of the harbor and were able to sleep with the windows open. You are within walking distance of all types or restaurants...

We arrived Christmas day and stayed five nights in room 211, which has a roll-in shower. The hotel's India Street entrance and the coffee shop next door were wheelchair-accessible. We didn't have much trouble finding parking spots using my husband's disability permit (although the street cleaning schedule did necessitate a move one night). We enjoyed morning coffee-and-pastry at Caffe Italia,...

My friend and I stayed La Pensione on New Year's Eve and were amazed how good of price we got for this nice boutique hotel in the heart of Little Italy. It was a small, European style type room, but it had everything we needed and the hotel and room were nicely remodeled. We also enjoyed the free pastry and...

If you want to stay at a hotel with warmth & character, and not in a typical chain hotel, La Pensione would be perfect for you. This was our second time staying here, it was for 6 nights this trip to San Diego. Great location in Little Italy with plenty of great restaurants within just a block or two. Friendly...

I have stayed here twice under the advisement of a friend. For the $$ it is outstanding. Excellent service and location can't be beat. Know that this it a small boutique hotel, not a large "luxe" property loaded with amenities. But for efficient, clean and well located lodging it is terrific!

La Pensione is in the heart of Little Italy, walking distance to so many restaurants and bars and local shops. Hotel has historical feeling but with contemporary decór. Room was very comfortable, airy, high ceilings, marble bathroom. Decor was clean and uncluttered and my bed was very comfy, some would say room is small, to me was totally fine, I...

A few things about the room were falling apart, but overall it was good. The gym was great, and even had a fancy new rowing machine, an eliptical, an uncomfortable bike, and medicine balls. The free coffee and pastry from the coffee shop around the corner was also good.

This hotel is located in the heart of Little Italy. So much to see and do near the hotel. Wonderful staff who are knowledgeable about the restaurants, businesses and bars in the area. Cute, simplistic, modern rooms- no actual closet. Quite comfortable bed. Nice outdoor patio. Underground parking. Will gladly stay again.

Very quaint and clean boutique inn. Staff is very helpful and readily available as well as their beautiful sweet old dog which is part of the quaintness. The only downside is the construction which was all day and kept us from being out on the balcony but that is not the fault of the inn
