I accompanied my friend to Mexicali for a medical surgery. We were brought to San Diego in the morning and had a red eye flight. Since she was not up to any sight seeing and needed a place to rest we booked a room at the Dolphin. They accommodated us by letting us check in at 11 am. Andy leave...

You are so nice to us Ms. B.! You are definitely a good friend to be by her side and to help her as she is recovering. The room was promptly made ready first thing in the morning as we do our best to accommodate all our guests. On occasions, our guests do request a late check-out, and we may...

My mother in law stayed here on a business trip 20 years ago ! She loved the place then. I was told I had no choice but to book in on my cycle ride down PCH to the Mexican border. I was not disappointed! Yes. Small rooms. But delightful! And clean. Everyone was so helpful. I liked it so much...

Thank you James for writing a review on our behalf. Amid the changing times, our property still stands. All our staff here are thankful that you guys do recommend our motel to friends & family. This room was really good value and the staff were great. The breakfast was basic but there was plenty of it. The room wasn't very big but it was really clean and had everything we needed. We got great recommendations from the reception staff.

Thank you bicycleto for sharing your experience here at the Dolphin Motel. I am glad to be of much help. That bike of yours as been from one end of America to the other end. Hence, it is like an old faithful companion! It has traveled further and longer than any vehicles that I have driven so far. And even...

I needed a cheap place to stay temporarily before my apartment was ready. The rooms were clean and quiet, while the staff were friendly. Strict no smoking policy in front of the rooms. There was a sign that said no fish in the rooms! Lol... and no visitors quiet time after 9:00pm. Makes sense on the weekends when the younger...

Thank you Matticus76 for staying with us. You are among the many who are in between places & found us based on our price & accommodations. It was a pleasure to have talked to you a few times. The rent in Point Loma is not very affordable, but the jobs are decent if you work for the Defense Department. And...

This motel is very cheap, the rooms are tiny, but they work !! They are very clean and the staff is friendly. Continental breakfast included. It's also very quiet! And close to the pier, great for going on walks.

Your review is short & sweet. Thank you Gabriela for writing about us on tripadvisor. It will give future guests an idea of what we have to offer for them. We do hope all our guests respect the QUIET TIME after 9:00pm as we are an older property. Noise does travel around, especially late at night. In terms of affordable...

Same staff members and same old charm. Thanks Steve & Thomas & Arturo for making our stay pleasant. And for the free 5 days parking while I went fishing. This beats across the HM Landing deal across the street that charges $10-$12/day.

Thank you Mr. Hossam for choosing our motel for your brief stay in San Diego. I am happy to have talked to you and to show all our tourist destinations. My partner and I have made 5 stays (for ~6 days each) at Dolphin over the past 12-13 years and I last reviewed Dolphin in 2010. This year's stay in January was as nice as ever EXCEPT that the motel was sold by the long time owners/managers, the Murdock father-and-son team, the week before. Thomas and Steve still manned the...
