We stayed at the Towneplace Suites under two bookings - one that I redeemed points for and another that I paid for since the latter half of the week I was there for work. Staff at the Towneplace Suites were great - they had called me earlier in the week to confirm my credit card information and then let me know that they would be able to keep me in the room for the entire stay, which meant I didn’t have to pack up in the middle of the week. Love that customer service! They have breakfast everyday and for the week we were there, it was a slightly different protein every morning. My favorites were the English muffin sandwiches. Coffee was good and I loved that they had yogurt and fruit too. The room was great - comes with a kitchenette, which we didn’t quite use to the fullest, but it was helpful for storing and reheating leftovers. The hotel is decently located, it’s walkable to Little Italy and the many restaurants there. I liked it so much that I actually have another booking there for another work trip later in the fall. A+ stay for sure.

Came here for golf trip with a few buddies for the second year in a row. Rooms are always clean and staff is friendly. Breakfast is simple, hot and consistent. Location is in downtown, you have to walk one business over to get to parking garage. Two blocks from restaurants and bars, will return!

The location of the hotel was excellent….easy walking distance to dozens of great restaurants. The best part about the place is the staff. We we with our young grandkids and they went out of their way to treat us with kindness and courtesy. You all are an exemplary team and an example of outstanding customer service. Thank you!

Good location, easy walk to downtown San Diego, Gaslamp district and convention center. The rooms are clean with no frills and the customer service was excellent. There is a really good mexican restaurant next door, and a fantastic coffee shop a 5 minute walk. The area felt safe and clean, and I feel a good option to stay if you are working in the convention center, it's a short and nice walk in the morning. I wanted to mention Ives at the front desk that provided phenomenal service.

The breakfast wasthe worst I have had in many years! Plastic plates and untensils, prefab quiches and egg sandwiches, very limited choices. Complained at the front desk, they replied: this is what we serve! I always stay at Hyatt, now I know why. Shame on you Marriott!

Five star service from Ives and Jovita. Ives was the one who checked us in and he was very warm and pleasant. Surprised to see him the following morning and even with lack of sleep he still greeted us with a smile. Jovita on breakfast service was attentive and greeted us with a smile. It was an awesome experience from this property.

This pleasant, unpretentious, well designed hotel has truly excellent staff! It is an evidently just (and very nicely) renovated extended stay hotel that we (seven members of our team) ended up staying in because all closer hotels to the convention center were either full or exorbitantly priced by the time we booked. It is a 20 minute walk, fyi, 8 minutes by taxi to the convention center. A pretty decent self-service breakfast is included. But it’s the staff that make the real difference.

I had my friend book a room for one night via her associate rates. I got a confirmation email and a few days prior and email for check in. I arrived after a long flight in the middle of the night and the front desk agent told me that my booking had been cancelled. A concrete reason could not be named. First I was told there was a problem with my credit card. I don’t believe this because I got the “ready to check in”- email. If my payment method was insufficient why would I have gotten this email in the first place. Then apparently they also had no contact information and that’s why I got cancelled. This is absolute nonsense, as I know my address was entered and they definitely had my email since I got my confirmation on said email address. I was not informed about the cancellation and went there straight from the airport just for the agent to tell me that there’s no other rooms available either. I was not provided a solution or any help of sorts. They basically left me, a woman, out there to sleep on the streets in the middle of the night.

Great quick stay. We were a bit concerned when we pulled up. It's downtown San Diego after all. But once inside you're whisked away. Heather was absolutely wonderful. She made us feel very welcome, and as though she had known us forever. She sent Cesear to our room with cookies for the kids, and made sure our needs were promptly tended to. Above and beyond. The only downside of this hotel, is the parking structure (I was fully stressed out navigating it). The room has a perfectly sized kitchenette, with a medium sized refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, coffee maker, lots of USB charging ports, great working A/C and comfy beds.

I had never stayed in this hotel before so it was my first experience and I definitely don't plan on returning back to this hotel. First after I checked in I went to the front desk and when I got there no one was there. When she came back after a long while she said she was moving her car. That is not something you do on the clock working. Especially when you are by yourself at the front desk. The next thing is the room I was in smelled and the floor was dirty like no one vacuumed it a d if they did it was not noticeable that they did. My washcloths had some sort of red marks on them so I felt as if they were not clean if they were they need to pull stained towels out of their inventory or bleach them better. I had called down to the front desk asking for a toothbrush and the night Auditor said he would bring it as there robot was down not working. I waited 20 minutes and no toothbrush. I was tired a d wanted to go to bed. I called after waiting he said he was busy give him 10 minutes and he would bring it or I could go get it but I had a two year old and was in my pj's I waited another 20 to 30 min and I finally just went to the front desk. He had my toothbrush at the front desk and I found him on a personal call that was non work related as that person was on speaker phone. This is not professional in my opinion at all. The last thing they need to change is there needs to be safety latches in the doors for 2 year Olds who know how to open doors that could be a dangerous and scary situation especially if they wake up while parents are sleeping. I will not be returning to this hotel. They left a bad taste in my mouth.
