Wanted somewhere cheap and close to seaworld/zoo for last couple of nights on our California tour so ended up choosing here. Was alright, room was basic, clean and tidy but noisy. People walking past all night and our room was by a garage that opened early but the worst thing was the cleaners (not them personality) they were all very friendly and helpful but knocked on door at half 7 in morning to clean room, we obviously sent her away, we are on holiday, we don't want to be up, dressed and out the room that early. When we were washed and dressed we made our way to breakfast room, took a while to find it but made it in end. Was alright, the basic breakfast to get you ready for the day. The room was spacious and clean, the only thing that I found odd (actually quite funny) was how the staff locked the door to food area 5 mins before breakfast was over, I totally understand that they need to get it all cleaned etc but let the guest who want an extra muffin or banana grab 1, it's only going in bin anyway!
We asked at reception how to get to SeaWorld, she was friendly and suggested an uber than taxi, I was shocked as thought we were in walking distance due to hotel name. Nope it was another car journey away.
We stayed 3 nights, it was alright, you get what you pay for with this place. If you don't mind abit of background noise and basic room then this is perfect.
I would stay here again quite happily for the price.

For anyone visiting California, a car is pretty necessary. This Inn and Suites is a great location for driving in different directions all over the greater San Diego area. A definite plus! The other plus is the fabulous breakfast that comes with the room: cereals, pastries, toast, muffins/bagels, eggs, sausages, waffles and fruit, along with coffee, tea, and milk.
The only negatives for us: 1) the very hard bed! AND, 2) even though it's a 100% smoke-free facility, nevertheless, there were rude patrons who just HAD to smoke on the balcony, like blowing the smoke over the balcony prevented it from wafting down to our room! Really?!

This was fine, a nice quiet hotel. Parking was well lit, and there was a security guard patrolling the parking lot all night. Room was clean and quiet. Check-in and check-out was easy. Many dining options nearby.

Although the hotel is smokefree, when you walk into the room, it has that penetrating smell of cigarettes. Rooms are pretty dated, since this is a pet friendly hotel, we did bring our dog and walked it and you can see dog poop all over the place. Obviously this is the patrons who stay but it didnt get picked up. There was dog poop on the second floor on the way to our room that was there for the 3 days we were there. The hotel advertises free breakfast which is a bad joke. It was a brown paper bag with a granola bar, water bottle, fruit cup and a box of apple juice. Seems like an excuse by the hotel to cut corners, if restaurants and buffets are open, I dont see the harm in maintaining social distancing and having a breakfast available. Wont be staying here again, on the plus side if you dont mind sketchy looking people staying there, the rate was good and the location is close to the freeway

The hotel is in extreme disrepair and is operating under new Covid policies which rendered the stay more of a hassle than an experience in hospitality.

While room turnover service is unavailable to guests while checked in, cleaning seems to be ongoing at the hotel. I was awoken at 8:30am by a worker shouting instructions loudly outside my room, despite the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign posted and my use of earplugs. Loud noises continued throughout the hotel until well after 8pm, and due to the lack of any insulation between rooms, everything from vacuuming to toilet scrubbing and changing sheets can be heard in the rooms above and on the other side of the walls. Imagine, laying in bed and being able to hear the person in the room beside you, rolling over in their bed.

This location has opted not to serve hot breakfast due to Covid, which is understandable, but what was offered instead has to be the worst example of a ‘breakfast’ I have ever seen. A fruit cup, a Capri sun, and a bottle of water.
Every other hotel I have been to in the past two years, including other Wyndham properties, has offered some combination of either muffins, fresh fruits, cold cereals, yogurts, etc. the location also offers no additional amenities to guests such as earplugs, eye masks, or late checkout, despite being located beside a loud and busy mechanic/dealership and the highway overpass.

The elevator needed to be serviced badly, as in addition to it being in disrepair (broken elevator buttons leading to anyone pushing a button risking a cut finger), it jerked unsteadily and rattled with each use. The expiration date for the elevator’s service certificate was 1/24/2022, and judging by the state of the rest of the hotel, I seriously doubt it will be serviced on time.

The luggage carts, of which there were two available, had bent wheels and could not pushed without two adults carefully steering. Even then, the cart we used fell over and spilled our luggage, and then finally broke when a women used it after us.

This location charges for parking upon checking in, although I could not personally find their parking fee listed anywhere on the Wyndham app, or on the booking website. $12 per night is an extremely steep fee considering not only the lack of prior notice, but the fact that there are no other options available to guests to park elsewhere, leaving guests without a choice but to feel like they had been blindsided.

Had this stay otherwise held up to the standard I have come to enjoy and expect when booking with Wyndham, I would not have minded the fee. But overall, I feel as if I was charged a premium rate for a budget motel experience, and my feelings towards staying with LaQuinta in the future have been soured.

We booked a room because we were having work done on our house and needed to be out for the weekend. Living locally I figured that any hotel in hotel circle would be nice… I was very wrong. While the staff was extremely friendly and even upgraded us from a 2 queen room to a king bed suite free of charge, we ended up checking out after 1 day here. The room was cleaned as far as the maid cleaned it but the interior was dated and felt dirty. The baseboards were in poor repair and some spots even rotted out from mopping. I took my dogs since we had to all be out of our house and my dogs found serval pieces of, I’m assuming, dog food under the ac unit and corner table. I’m hoping it was dog food at least because if not we may be having issues later. I don’t understand how anything like that would be left if the floor had been vacuumed or mopped fully. The bed was creaky and the couch in the room had stains on it. It just made us feel dirty even being in the room. Not to mention that the noise of the maid’s carts rolling by on our floor as well as the floor above us were so loud. It scared my dogs. I also noticed that a few ac units had dog pee on their exterior. My room did not but others did on the dog floor. Like people let their dogs lift their legs and pee on the ac units and they were never cleaned. Who wants to use an ac unit that is pulling air in through a screen with dried dog pee on it? They charge a $20 a night fee per dog per night. That money might be used towards cleaning up after the dogs who pee on inappropriate things like the walls, walkways and ac units. They have a place for the dogs to use the bathroom but clearly irresponsible owners don’t take their dogs there to relieve themselves and the boys doesn’t clean up after these dogs either.

Do yourself a favor and chose another hotel if you must stay in hotel circle or go to the La Quinta Inn Mission Bay if you like La Quinta In. I transferred to that location after checking out of here and it is far superior.

We came from up north (Modesto) almost an 8 hour drive. We arrived at 2 AM and were greeted by a very excellent and happy staff member in the lobby. Check in was a breeze, getting to our room was very easy. When we came inside our room it was very clean, our beds were so comfortable and all the necessities you needed were in there like the coffee maker, microwave and charger outlet ect. The selection of TV was very good. Something for everyone to watch. Breakfast was amazing! Never had breakfast at a hotel before so I was curious. There’s legit anything for everyone. Feeling hungry? There’s waffle makers and toasters for your bagels. Don’t forget to add syrup on your eggs and sausage! Feeling like eating something simple? Grab some oatmeal/cereal! And while you’re at it, be sure to grab fruit while you grab the delicious pastries ;) Friendly staff all over the property. And location is nice. Coming back!

There was a long line at check in, two people on computers checking people in while two others stood there watching. When I asked location of handicap parking, the person checking me in said there was none. A standby person said there were two for the whole place, in the garage.
We reserved a king suite. We were given a double bed small dirty room. I tried calling right away, was put on hold, then 10 minutes later disconnected.
I called back & talked to Mary who said the only computers were being used to check people in. I asked if she would call me back. TWO hours later, I called again and asked for Mary. Computers were available but she forgot about us.
She would try to get us another room, but they were sold out. I told her that in these hours we had already used the toilet, laid on the beds (since we didn’t have the sofa we were paying for & unpacked some necessities.) we both use canes & it is hard for us to move, let alone move luggage. We chose to stay but asked for a lower price. After I asked for a discount because we had reserved & paid for a suite, Mary said, no! $197 was that day’s rate for the room we were in #115.)
I objected more and she did eventually discount that room from $197 to $175. Not a pleasant conversation.
Lying on the bed was uncomfortable. When I got up, the lumps in the bed were very obvious. Found later, that really meant a bad night of tossing & turning.
In the morning, I sat, looking at the bathroom baseboards. Took a wet towel to see if that was really as much dirt as it appeared. It was years worth of dirt!!! The tiny spot I reached with the wet towel barely made a dent in the first layer of grime.
We later found that the breakfast promised was a grab & go bag.
Upon check in, they charged an additional $50 deposit. When checking out I asked that my deposit be returned to my credit card and was told that would happen in about
5-7 days (imagine the hotel business collecting interest on everyone’s deposit, around the world, for a week. Nice & profitable side hustle for them.). I then had to ask for a receipt & had to wait while the clerk went into another room. The receipt does not mention the extra $50 deposit & charged two days worth of parking, even though we checked in & out on time for one night.
We have stayed at La Quinta Inn & Suites all over the country because we often take our two small dogs. This time we didn’t have our dogs with us & are happy that was the case because of the small, dirty room and lack of response of staff.
Our other go-to hotel brands are in the Marriott family of places to stay.
Wyndham has some work to do on their lodging if this is any indication of their brand.

Customer service was subpar, you pay for parking as well as $50 in case you smoke. Alarm clock was left set to 5:30am. “Breakfast” is a brown bag and no coffee, it’s room coffee which is terrible. Location isn’t bad but it’s next to an auto repair shop so be ready to hear that early mornings and all day.

Booked this room for a family trip to San Diego. Mostly for the price, room and breakfast. We got the family suite since we had the kids (16&11) and they are too big to share a bed and it’s so expensive to get 2 rooms. The family suite had bunk beds when you enter the room. Sink, microwave and mini fridge straight back. Then the bed in a separate doorless room. It was perfect. After spending all day with kids it was nice to have that little bit of separation at the end of the day. The room was clean, bed was surprisingly comfy, hotel was quiet and ALL of the staff were polite and helpful. We took Uber every where, from the gas lamp to mission beach, it was never more than 14 dollar ride. Breakfast for the kids saves a good amount of money. Apples and bananas, eggs and sausage, make your own waffle, cereal, milk, juices, bagels, toast, pastries, ect. All
Served in a large dining area. It can get busy, and when it’s closing time they mean it. Don’t try to make one more waffle. Haha The ladies who prepare the food are not servers. Don’t forget to bus your own table and pick up after your self. It’s amazing how some adults don’t get that. My only single complaint was it might have been the worst shower water pressure I ever experienced.

Akeem: I’m not sure if I spelled your name right and I’m sorry for that. I want to say thank you soooooo much for getting my silver chain back to me.
I realized I left it once I was at the airport and didn’t have time to go back. I called and Akeem made sure they had it in the room, he took down my information and told me how to go about getting it shipped back to me. It arrived in the mail today and I couldn’t be happier as it has sentimental value. And for that reason alone this hotel gets that 5th star. I will most definitely consider staying here again when in San Diego.

It starts at 6:30. They won’t let you in even a minute early. They do have coffee at the front desk. The breakfast isn’t anything special either. They did have biscuits and gravy and microwaved sausages coupled with the typical LQ breakfast waffles etc. also they had a construction crew staying there when I stayed and they flooded the breakfast area right when it opened. There is a Denny’s about a block away that I used one day. Hope that helps
