After transferring from the Palomar, we found the Solamar everything we were hoping for in a trip and a Kimpton Hote. Great location to the Gaslamp area and Petco Park. The rooms were clean and bright. The pool area was relaxing, yet full of activity and fun. Most of all the service we received from all the employees was outstanding....

I stayed with friends for a few nights, and we loved the most out of all the ones we stayed in for our two-week Cali-LA road trip. The location was perfect in the Gaslamp Quarter with plenty of restaurants/bars within easy walking distance. Rooms were large, clean and tastefully decorated with comfortable beds. The bathroom was stylish albeit slightly style...

I stayed here for 3 nights for a conference and loved it. The room on the 9th floor overlooking the pool was spacious and clean. The bed squeaked a little when getting in and out but was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean. The complimentary coffee in the morning was a nice touch. The staff, from the front...

This is a very stylish hotel. We stayed in a room with a king size bed. The room was big, comfortable and clean. Bathroom had abundant hot water. Amenities are great. In the lobby, they offer coffee and the paper in the morning and wine in the evening. The hotel is situated in a lively area, full of restaurants and...

Solamar is by far one of the nicest Kimpton properties I've stayed in. Greeted by very friendly staff who were helpful in getting me into my room 3 hours before the 3:00 checkin. Room was HUGE. So much room to spread out. Bathroom was very spacious and bright. Speakman shower heads. Bed was immensely comfortable. View was looking out over...

Outstanding Hotel, with the service and amenities to match. Centrally located in the heart of San Diego's Gas Lamp District; everything I wanted - nightlife, shopping, dinning - was within walking distance. Highly recommended!

This was our final destination on our trip down the Pacific Coast Highway and I was pleasantly surprised. I am not sure what I had expected but after some wonderful stays in B&B's I thought this would be a rather soulless city centre hotel. I was wrong. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very smart, with a...

Dear Pleasantly Surprised Guest – Surprise – we’re not your typical downtown hotel and I am delighted that you found your stay so positive – we love to see our guests happy. Sounds like you took advantage of most of our perks. We’d love to report that the Padres are doing better but alas, not yet. At least we always...

I booked this hotel "accidentally" through Priceline with the name your price option. I go on there sometimes and enter a really low price for a 4 or 5 star hotel in a place I'd like to go, this was the first time it actually worked. I originally booked 2 nights but my wife thought that was too short and...

I stayed here for business during an industry convention. The lobby was nice and modern, but dark. We had a nice room. The only real issue was the Jacuzzi bath, which had a window that required you to step into the Jacuzzi each time you wanted to close the curtains. I love taking baths, but did not want to use...

Dear LV Guest, Sounds like you had one of our Masters Suites with a window in front of the spa tub; they are pretty romantic with awesome city views but do take an extra step if you want to close it off for privacy.
