we stayed in 8 hotels in usa in august. This was fantastic. Ann was a brilliant, warm host who just couldn.t do enough to help. Enjoyed private decking area attached to old town room. So much to see and do in San Diego - we there 4 nights but could have easily filled more. Restaurants in hilcrest area very good...

We stayed in the Zoo Room for three nights and had a great experience--the room itself was cozy and the bed was beyond comfortable (I slept for over ten hours one night). I completely agree with the what the previous 100+ reviewers have written about what an amazing service Ann (and Tim and Christina) provide--you really couldn't meet nicer people....

Our stay a Hillcrest B&B, was super relaxing a fun! We stayed in the Gaslamp Room. Very small, but super cute and quaint! Ann, the innkeeper, is very charming and there to help you with anything you need!

Every aspect of staying at Hillcrest House, and enjoying Ann's hospitality, was completely relaxed and enjoyable. The room was homey, comfortable, and spotless, and the bathroom looked brand new. The location is within a very short walk of dozens of wonderful restaurant choices, and Ann provides good suggestions if you are new to the area. I would recommend Hillcrest House...

I had no idea what a great buy this place was! The location is perfect - you can hop on the freeway and get to a beach in ten minutes, get on a bus to downtown in 10 minutes, or walk to Balboa park. You are walking distance from Hillcrest, which is an amazing place to eat where the locals...

We stayed three nights in the Old Town Room at Hillcrest House. The accommodation was very comfortable, breakfasts were delicious and Ann and Callie made our stay a very enjoyable one. Ann's recommendations on where to eat and what to see were "spot on" for us. (We enjoyed Italian at "Arrivederci", Afghan at the "Khyber Pass" —both in Hillcrest—and Mexican...

The B & B had a great layout for guests in the main house. The breakfast was to die for. A very nice staff person named Elizabeth had cut up all kinds of fresh fruit and put out an elaborate spread for breakfast (bread, cereal, coffee, & juices). I stayed in the Coronado Room and the room had it all....

Ann was great. Accommodations were comfortable, accommodating, great location, good value. Simple is often better. No glitz, just solid good experience. Met wonderful travelers from around the world and traded info. Dinner at the Arriverdeci didn't hurt either.
