Detailed Reviews
My husband and I traveled to San Diego for a few days and stayed at this Best Western. We had an Accessible - 2 Queen room on the 4th floor. The wide door way to the bathroom and plentiful grab bars worked well. There is a separate bathroom vent fan. The hallway and room were fresh smelling even though the breakfast area is on the same floor. The room was clean. The room heater was not too loud. The bed was comfortable and there were 4 pillows on each bed. There was a noise issue because this room was on the freeway side of the building and there was a lot of road traffic. Luckily, I always travel with ear plugs and my husband can sleep through a lot of noise. Unfortunately, we also could hear the water quite loudly in the pipes when neighboring room flushed the toilet. I would recommend asking for a room away from the freeway. There was a blockage in the bathtub so the shower was not draining, we went to the front desk in the morning to report it. It had not been fixed by the time we returned at the end of the day, so we asked that a maintenance person be requested to take care of it ASAP which they did. Breakfast: This Best Western did not include make-your-own waffles or fresh oatmeal. It did have hard boiled eggs, Cheerios, yogurt, and plentiful 2% milk so we were good with that. The location was very convenient for visiting SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo. Even though we had to pay for parking, I found that the overall cost at this hotel was less than other places with free parking.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I had a good time and felt safe. I want to take a moment to acknowledge a very committed worker there. Her name is Pauola? She was all over the place. From the moment I arrived, I passed by the laundry window and caught her working solo. My family and I decided to go for a late around 9-10pm after a long day. We took our room towels as instinct because it's late in the night and from our experience, there will be no towels in the pool area and we were right. But to our surprise, she must have seen us, because she came out moments later and brought us some towels and put extra ones in the cart for anyone who might decide to come out to swim. After washing up, I called to ask for extra room towels and at the door was the one and only, Pauola again. I swear maybe she had a twin.
We decided to stay in and give the pantry a visit, however, the member stocking the pantry accidentally spilled a glass container drink and it came crashing all over the floor. She knew the safety of the guests and workers and called for a clean up right away. Here comes Pauola once again and I observed them working together to clean up the mess and Pauola sweeping up glass and surrounding areas they thought glass might have spread to.
I observed Pauola and I can say she is a very hard worker and very attentive. She never made any distasteful facial expressions when having to clean up a spill or thought twice about bringing extra towels to guests when the pool is about to close because I can honestly say, a lot of hotels would never do this as the pool is almost closing and members will rarely bring out towels unless asked. She did that as if we were her family and that is how she wishes her family would be treated while staying at a hotel. She did it with a smile and that is not something I see in a lot of hotels that I have stayed. God bless her energy because to have to run up and down floors and maintain customer expectations for the hotel, is a lot of work. you can't satisfy everyone but she does her best and goes the extra mile to represent the establishment she works at.

We only needed the room/suite to sleep, shower and have breakfast. Otherwise, we left the property each day. It’s a remodeled older property with old elevators. The rooms were clean but needed minor repairs such as paint touch ups, newer toilets, etc. Towels were dingy. As far as service, it was five stars. Staff was nice and had our room tidy when we got back. Breakfast was generous, being open for 4 hours. They have a security guard overnight to watch over the parking, so I didn’t mind the parking fee. However the homeless still made their way onto benches on the property by morning and smoking their Mary Jane’s. It’s not the Hilton but if you’re there to just sleep, shower and have breakfast, it is suitable. It’s hard to find a Hotel these days that just nails it unless you want to drop a thou for 3 nights.

I searched high and low through reviews to pick this hotel.
This was our experience. It was pretty clean-so we thought. First night, my husband slept on the sofa bed bc of snoring issues and saw next morning that there was crap on the sheet he slept on! Looked like someone who was in that room prior wiped their butt with the sheet!! Housekeeping mgr came in and apologized bc all linens are supposed to be changed. Apparently that was not the case.
Tried calling down to lobby at least 4 different times. No one answered phone.
The next thing was someone with a small child was in the room above us. Sounded like elephants running back and forth. Again, tried to call front office..no answer. This went on till after midnight.
Breakfast was ok but be sure to understand you will get scrambled eggs with chicken sausage and reg sausage one day then a cheese omelet the next day with sausage and then repeat...for 7 days. They had waffles but was imppssible to get to machines. No potatoes even??
View was the pool bc I did not want to be on freeway side.
I felt safe as the elevator needed a room key to get on in lobby.
We were refunded $100 but that seemed very insufficient as my husband slept in filth and how much of a health issue that was! I will not stay there again.

I stayed at the hotel with my family recently, and while we enjoyed certain aspects of our stay, the breakfast experience was disappointing. We arrived at 9 AM, but most of the food items were already empty, and the eating area was quite dirty. There were noticeable spills and debris on the floor. I understand that the hotel was busy, but I believe more attention should be given to cleanliness and replenishing food items during breakfast hours.

Good and conveniently located San Diego location. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. Staff was prompt, professional and thorough. My daughter lost an earring outside the room and left the one remaining on the dresser. Housekeeping must have found the missing earring because they left it with its mate when they serviced the room. Above and beyond service. Also the free breakfast is nice.

Staff was awesome! We were able to use the heated pool multiple times and we got the included breakfast in the morning. Over all we had a great stay and we would stay here again. I do wish parking was included in the stay. The room needed a little bit of TLC; bathtub was peeling and it could use some fresh paint on the walls. Hand soap smelled gross so maybe bring your own. The room was still very clean. House keeping would make our beds and get fresh towels while we were out for the day (much needed for a family of 5).

It’s been remolded since we were here last, enjoyed fresh new look. We loved having 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa made it family friendly. We had our room serviced, housekeeping went above and behind we had left it very sandy, they had it cleaned and even tucked in my daughter’s stuffed animal and folded her blanket. It was such a treat to come back after a long day. We enjoyed the simple but yet delicious breakfast. We were always welcomed with such friendliness.
Thank you for making our home away from home cozy and welcoming.
