We booked a two-night stay using points. Our original reservation was for a standard room with two double beds, but upon check-in upgraded to a bay-view room with two queen beds! The hotel and rooms are so clean and comfortable! Check out our gorgeous view! The staff here are incredibly kind and welcoming, especially to young children. They're also very quick to respond - A 3-year-old girl got lost in the elevators during our stay and the staff—along with my husband—acted quickly to reunite her with her parents. I also accidentally left my credit card at one of the hotel’s restaurants, and it was promptly returned without issue. Housekeeping was also quick to respond to minor asks. We're pretty familiar with San Diego and the hotel's location is awesome, with easy walking access to major attractions like the USS Midway, Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarter, and Tuna Harbor. Great shopping and dining are all close by. Overall, 10/10 highly recommend! Just a slight heads up, self-parking is $45/day if you are not globalist status.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt is a beautiful hotel with great rooms with a great view of the bay. I had a small problem at check in but Eric took care of this for me. Considering I work in the entertainment industry, we are on tough schedules so this was amazing. The rooms are clean and beautiful with a modern aesthetic. Bathrooms are well done with chic products like shampoos and body wash. The elevator key card prevents anyone from getting to the rooms that doesn't have the key card for that floor. Great pools and wonderful hot tubs. The gym is amazing. The food is delicious in their restaurants and they have the best location near the Seaport.

After a full week of theme parks and the Zoo with our grandkids, we decided on a little personal couples time by staying at the Manchester Hyatt Grand in San Diego this past weekend. We checked in to a beautiful King Bed Corner Room on the 21st Floor with an incredible view of the Harbor and the Marina/Seaport. The bell staff was very helpful with our luggage and ordered a Complimentary mini fridge for our use in our room. We were able to Self Park in the attached garage and walk around the Seaport Village and the Harbor without needing to use our rental car. We had lunch by the pool on our first afternoon and also enjoyed a drink at the Top of the Hyatt and dinner at The Landing on the second evening during our stay. The location downtown cannot be beat and getting to the airport on Sunday was a breeze! This is a wonderful first-class hotel and we recommend it highly!

I stayed there for 7 nights. The hotel has a really good location as it is walking distance from several tourist sites (aircraft carrier, maritime museum, Petco Park). You can also take the trolley or city bus to the airport or Balboa park. There is a pool and two hot tubs located on the 4th floor. The hotel does charge a "destination fee" of $42. So, make sure you quote the price with the fee. With the fee, you can get a free boat tour, 1 free hour of bike rental as well as 1 free hour of kayak rental. The view from my room was good as well. There is also a firepit that runs at night.
I didn't pay for breakfast and didn't have a car. So, I cannot comment on either of those items. There was a rooftop cinema as well, but the price seemed rather high.
There are some downsides to the hotel. The shade in my room was tattered a bit and some of the towels really needed to be thrown out as they were worn out. The luggage rack in my room was broken. So, I had to ask for a new one. There was a cooler in the room, but no microwave. I disliked the fact that you had to check out pool towels using your key. If one doesn't get recorded as being returned, they charge you $25. I had to review my bill very closely to notice the charge. They took it off the bill without any question, though.
There are quite a few restaurants very close. You can also walk to the Gaslamp district for many more options.
The elevators are controlled before you get on the elevator. One elevator bank covered the upper floors. That elevator bank seemed busier than the lower floors.

I booked a hotel room in advance for our family (2 adults and 2 young children), specifically requesting 2 beds to ensure we had enough space to rest after our trip to Maui. Upon checking in, we were dismayed to discover we had been assigned a single bed room, which was far too small for our family. We attempted to get a room change, but there were no other rooms available. As a solution, we requested a rollaway bed.
I had to call the reception twice to inquire about the rollaway bed, and we ended up waiting for two hours. It finally arrived around midnight, which was unacceptable, especially when traveling with young children after a long flight.
The room's quality was far below the standards we experienced during our trip to California and Hawaii, including 3-star Hyatt House hotels. There were bloodstains on the sheets and dust everywhere. I have attached photos to illustrate the room's condition.
To make matters worse, after we finally fell asleep after midnight, a hotel employee started knocking on our door at 8:30 am, waking us all up, including the children, who were still on Hawaii time (5:30 am). The employee simply stated that she was "checking rooms." This is unacceptable and unbelievable.
We have stayed in numerous Hyatt hotels in the US, Caribbean, and Europe, and this is the first time we have encountered such an experience. We will never stay at this hotel again.

1. Room Safety: I felt uneasy staying in a connecting room by myself. I would have appreciated either a non-connecting room or at least being asked about my preference during check-in, given my solo stay.
2. Odor in the Room: Upon entering, I noticed a faint but distinct smell resembling feces. While housekeeping later tried to mask the odor with a lemon scent rubbed on the walls, this was not a long-term solution, and the smell lingered.
3. Bathroom Issues: The shower did not function properly as I was unable to pull the tab to turn it on. Additionally, the sink was cracked, the toilet ran constantly, and these maintenance issues significantly reduced my comfort.
4. Room Hygiene: There was a strong stench of body odor on the headboard and an inexplicable odor from the pillows, making the bed feel unsanitary and unwelcoming.
5. Valet Service: Upon my arrival, the valet attendant disappeared while searching for a luggage cart, even though there were several in front of the lobby doors. When leaving, the valet attendant took my gratuity but did not open my door, which seemed discourteous and unprofessional.
While I appreciated the scenic view from my room, the $100 credit for the room scent, and the courteous service from the bell hop, Mike, I believe the hotel could have addressed the following concerns more effectively:
Room Allocation: Offering non-connecting rooms to solo travelers or confirming with them if they feel comfortable would enhance safety and peace of mind.
Maintenance and Cleanliness: A more thorough inspection of rooms, including the shower, sink, toilet, headboard, and pillows, prior to guest arrival would ensure these types of issues don’t occur. In particular, addressing odors at the source rather than masking them would be a more satisfactory approach.
Valet Service: Clearer communication and attention to guests at valet, including assistance with door opening and a faster retrieval process for luggage carts, would improve guest experience and professionalism.

The day before my check-in, I called to request an early check-in, fully understanding that it could not be guaranteed. I received an email at 3:00 AM for online check-in, which I completed, opting for a 9 AM check-in and daily cleaning service. Upon arrival, my friends’ rooms were ready, though they hadn’t completed online check-in or requested early check-in, while I had to wait approximately three hours for my room to be prepared.
When I was finally able to check in, I was asked again about my preference for cleaning frequency, to which I confirmed daily cleaning. However, throughout my stay, my room was not cleaned. I called the front desk and was informed that my room had been marked for “Saturday cleaning” only, despite my earlier requests. I was also offered amenities for the mistake, and I requested water, which was said to be sent to my room (3073), but it never arrived. Unfortunately, Saturday came, and my room was still not cleaned. I spent all 4 days at the hotel without having my room refreshed.
Additionally, I also requested a late check-out for Sunday and was offered a complimentary check-out at 12:00 PM. However, upon reviewing my bill, I noticed a $50 charge for the late check-out, which had to be corrected at the front desk.
Overall, the lack of room cleaning and the billing issue were disappointing, especially considering my previous positive experiences with other hotels, and this being my first time at a Hyatt property. I had higher expectations for the Grand Hyatt and felt that the service did not meet the standards I associate with the brand.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego – it’s a solid 10/10! The property is stunning, with impeccable service from a truly incredible staff. The rooms were spotless; housekeeping maintained pristine conditions throughout my stay, which was especially comforting after long days at a convention.
The beds are extremely comfortable, though the pillows are down, which aren't my favorite. However, the hotel was quick to accommodate my request for non-feather pillows, sending up replacements immediately.
Pre-dinner champagne at The Landing was a delight with crisp selections served by JoJo, our super attentive waitress. The breakfast buffet is another highlight, offering a delicious array of options with sweet and attentive waiters ensuring a pleasant start to the day.
The front desk manager also went above and beyond in assisting us with packages shipped for our convention, ensuring everything was smoothly handled.
A special mention goes to the Balmain bathroom amenities – a luxurious touch that truly enhanced my overall experience. Attention to detail is clearly a priority here.
The views from the hotel are stunning, and while my fifth-floor room view was limited due to my request for adjacent rooms with a coworker, higher floors are highly recommended for the best vistas.
If you’re visiting San Diego and looking for a top-notch experience with excellent amenities and service, the Manchester Grand Hyatt should definitely be on your list.

Attendedfor week from 13-20 of Nov had 2 room for liver Conference with AASLD. The hotel is Beautiful and truly the Employees truly care about the experience of their consumers experience. I loved the view we had on the bay side. It was a beautiful experience. We even seen a firework display from our room that was from the midway.
I can only suggest that possibly microwaves be placed in rooms so re warming food could be an option. I also would suggest that housekeeping clean the bath grab bars on the backside of tubs mine was a little yucky when I touched it upon Getting out of tub. It was the backside of the bar facing the shower wall that is not seen that had a gritty and unclean feel. I cleaned it myself

I stayed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego for a conference. The check in process was very easy, and the ability to text the hotel made communication easy. However, there was a "contract" between the conference and the hotel, that I as a paying consumer was not informed of. The hotel agreed to deliver conference materials INSIDE my room, by a hotel staff, without informing me they would be doing this. As a customer, I am under the assumption that housekeeping will be entering the room, and no one else. If there is to be others entering for other reasons, I expect to be informed of this. Instead, I entered my room to find materials that had not previously been in there, and seek out staff to find out why this was allowed to happen. I did not fee secure in this hotel, knowing that hotel staff can enter for whatever purpose, without it being communicated to me. I will not be returning to this hotel, nor will it be on my list of recommended hotels.
