I recently attended a retreat hosted by Flourish at the Bristol Hotel from February 11-12, and it's crucial I share my ongoing experience regarding an incident with my belongings. Upon arrival, our rooms were not ready, leading us to entrust our luggage with the hotel staff. Unfortunately, my suitcase went missing after I was informed my room was available. The hotel staff's approach to locating my suitcase was surprisingly lax; they permitted unrestricted access to the storage area for guests, including myself, to search for missing items. Repeated inquiries about my suitcase were met with assurances of continued searching, yet no proactive measures seemed to be taken. It was particularly disconcerting that a review of security footage was considered only after I suggested it, hours after my suitcase was noticed missing, revealing a concerning lack of initiative in resolving the situation. The situation took a turn when I was informed a prior guest had inadvertently taken my suitcase to the Joshua Tree conservation area. Initial promises by the hotel staff to retrieve my suitcase were withdrawn once the logistical challenges became apparent. Although arrangements were eventually made for its return, the follow-through was minimal, leading to delays and further inconvenience. Ultimately, these guests ended up returning to Toronto, Canada with my suitcase. As of now, my suitcase remains in Toronto, and I am still awaiting a response from the hotel to my requests for them to cover the shipping costs to have these prior guests ship me my suitcase. This ordeal has not only caused significant inconvenience to me and these other guests, it also has forced me to incur additional expenses for essentials and professional attire due to the absence of my belongings. The lack of accountability and proactive customer service from the Bristol Hotel is deeply concerning. While the staff were polite, their actions—or lack thereof—have done little to address the seriousness of the situation. This experience highlights an urgent need for the hotel to improve its security measures and customer service protocols. I share this in the hope of shedding light on the importance of effective communication and resolution strategies within the hospitality industry. For those considering hosting or attending an event at the Bristol Hotel, I recommend inquiring about their policies and procedures regarding the safeguarding and handling of guest belongings and issue resolution. This ongoing situation has not only inconvenienced me but also leaves a lingering question about the commitment of the Bristol Hotel to resolve guest issues promptly and effectively.

My second stay at this hotel. I’ll continue to return. Good location, Gaslamp adjacent. Clean lobby, polite staff, though it would have been nice if they had a ATM in the lobby. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a decent size with good water pressure. A table light in our room didn’t work, but that wasn’t an issue.

Lovely hotel in a good location. Enjoyed the large room with comfortable bed/excellent, totally quiet A/C and bathroom with excellent shower. Especially appreciated the in room coffee and lobby coffee. Friendly staff who answered questions promptly and took good care of our senior requests. The entire hotel is immaculately clean. The spacious lobby is very pleasant, well appointed, and comfortable.

My stay at the Bristol hotel was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the location is great. I was able to walk most places and when I used ride share the prices were pretty low. The rooms had fluffy pillows and confortable bedding. I’d definitely stay here again.

The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space in the "FAB" for 2 people. The staff is very kind and the front desk was always staffed. The hotel is in walking distance to downtown, the waterfront, Little Italy and the gaslamp district. Would stay here again for the location alone! Many food options close by as well.

My stay was very pleasant. My room was upgraded with a complimentary bottle of wine. The hotel is very quiet!!! I do not remember hearing another person on my floor other than the elevator a couple of times. The decor in the room was nicely done. The bed was super comfy with a very large tv. I plan to stay here again when my conference comes back around. Excellent choice at a great price. I booked directly through the hotel for best rate.

Nice little boutique hotel steps from Gaslamp (about a 10 min walk to the heart of it ) Staff was always friendly especially Chris when we checked in at midnight on a Saturday. Valet guy that worked overnight was always friendly and made it feel safe.

Maybe a slightly clouded judgement on this hotel due to the cost compared to my colleagues who booked before me so that is my fault, however expected so much more from this hotel. The positives are the rooms are very spacious and clean albeit dated. The hotel itself is dated and just feels very soulless and empty, not helped by the fact there is no bar despite one being advertised. Wi-fi is very poor in room and the hotel itself is just a bit too far from gas-lamp to be convenient for people who may be attending a convention. There is also no room service at this hotel except if you book it once every 3 days. Main reason for low score was the two girls who checked us in. No manners or customer service skills and completely unhelpful. When I went to my room , it was clear someone that it had not been serviced since the previous occupant left as beds were unmade, and wet towels on bathroom floor. When I went down to let Reception know they had made a mistake I was firstly asked if I was sure then made to feel like I was the problem. Overall, decent but dated and poor service.

Great location, adjacent to the downtown gaslamp district. Also, a fifteen minute walk to Petco baseball stadium for the Dodgers vs Padres game. Easy and efficient valet. Clean and nice lobby. Room was very clean, decent size for two people, bed was very cozy, AC worked great, great water pressure, and the staff were very nice. I’d definitely stay again.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Bristol Hotel. It is a beautiful building, and the room was spacious and clean. The location is perfect, right in the middle of Downtown near Gaslamp area. The service was excellent, particularly Maurice at the front desk. definitely would stay again!
