Our family stayed for five nights and loved every day of our stay. In particular Yolanda and Wanda went out of their way to add a personal touch and make our trip special. They were great with our kids and very helpful with their intimate knowledge of the area. We thought the location was very handy and generally only 15 minutes from some of our favorite places, including the zoo and beach at La Jolla. Thank your for the clean room, tasty breakfast, and top notch service! We can’t wait to visit again.

Dear bullish175, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Being away from the hustle and bustle but just close enough to access everything is part of the charm of our hotel. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and I am overjoyed to see Wanda and Yolanda able to enhance your stay. I will be sure to share your feedback with them and the entire team. We look forward to hosting you again on your next trip to San Diego! All the best, Tracy Carr

I would like to give a shoutout to Yolanda and Cathy at the reception desk! They were friendly, attentive to my requests, and followed-up on whether I received the items I requested via our room phone. The janitors also greeted us every time we entered and exited the hotel, which felt really nice.

Things to improve:
1. Our TV did not have Netflix on it. Most modern hotels have Netflix, and it felt odd not to have this in our room.
2. Our room did not have a blow dryer and dishwashing liquid (which the front desk quickly rectified)
3. Our room had a random towel on the desk when we first entered.

Check in was a breeze, our room was clean and when we requested for extra pillows, towels etc, they were more than happy to accommodate and was quick to deliver. They are off the beaten path about 20-30 mins from Downtown so I don’t know why they charge for daily parking. I do recall reading something that stated “in and out privileges” Not sure what that means when there isn’t a guard to let you in and out. (missing star).
Pros
The breakfast was really great! They have tons of options including rice which was very odd but I love rice so I can’t complain. They have everything you need as far as kitchenware utensils, plates, scrub mama, paper towels. They also offer shampoo, conditioner, body wash. The gym was smaller than I expected but the machines worked and they only have dumbbells.
Cons
The A/C and furnace was located in the room and goodness did it wake me when it came on. We did have an accessible room but the person who we traveled with didn’t have a wheel chair, the bathroom has a shower with no step just open so I was worried that one may slip if someone had to use the restroom after someone showered (check the pics) shampoo, conditioner and body wash sucked! Also, the placement of the pullout couch was very odd, we needed to either keep the door open or it would hit the bottom or wont open if we closed the door.

Ever stayed at a hotel with 4+ stars only to be disappointed with something? Well, you can’t please everyone, so I place a very high priority on the hotel staff and this Residence Inn is absolutely among the very best staff I’ve ever seen. They are all so nice and so helpful and accommodating you’ll feel like you’re with your second family. Breakfast is served at 6:30am, or is it? I just went to get a cup of coffee at the lobby (5:45am) and I noticed that breakfast looked ready. Well, that’s because it was. I was cheerfully met by Wanda, who was working her butt off, as she has been all week, making sure the guests had a hot breakfast, ready to go, long before the advertised time. And she’s so ridiculously sweet. Thank you, Wanda for early breakfast. I’ve rarely seen an early breakfast at any hotel I’ve stayed at, much 45 minutes early. She’s amazing.

I stayed here for a week in December, then another week in January for training in the conference room. As soon as I walked in the hotel I was greeted by Yolanda at the desk with her awesome smile :) She was very friendly throughout my stay here which I appreciated. Coming from Hawaii it's always nice to feel Aloha everywhere you go. The breakfast bar was amazing. Freshly cooked bacon, sausages, eggs, a waffle maker, toast, bagels.....I can go on. Each day was different. Didn't have to worry about eating the same breakfast each morning. Great variety! The suites were clean and maintained. I had a stove, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. The hotel also has a grocery service for you too in case you are unable to make it to the store. During our training in the conference room, we never went without drinks, water, coffee and tea thanks to Wanda. She was also a big help in teaching me how to use the waffle maker lol!! Thank you for the cookies ladies! Not once did I have a WTF moment. Great service and clean rooms. This place is a winner!!

I was excited to stay here because of all of the positive reviews, and I would not say I had a negative experience. However, this property is not the typical standard of quality that I am used to when I travel. The room felt clean enough, but I didn’t feel as comfortable as I have felt at properties that are of a higher quality. The rooms are a tad outdated, so everything felt just so so. Again, I have no complaints, but I also wouldn’t stay at this property again because I like a slightly better quality when I travel.

I attended a training session in one of the hotel's conference rooms, and also stayed at the hotel all week. My room was a suite, with a kitchen area, sitting area, and separate bedroom and bathroom. The room was perfect for a long week. Breakfast was good each morning, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

After staying here a couple of weeks for work, I'm just in love with the Residence Inn. My wife and I use their gym every morning and always grab food on the way back up to our room. We love their staff too! We love seeing Jawad's cheerful smile every morning at the breakfast bar and Kathy always seems to be one top of things. Their staff really are incredibly professional and friendly; they're all the kind of people that brighten the room when they walk in. Love being here!

Stayed December 2020. This Marriott in my experience is NOT adhering to COVID-19 protocols. We checked in to a room that was not cleaned - the sink had the previous occupants shaved hairs left in the sink. Not something you would have missed had you cleaned the room. VERY Concerning! When it was brought to the hotel staffs attention they sent up maintenance. Maintenance took an hour to fix it and needed special chemicals because it was so clogged. Gross! Let the GM know and crickets....

The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel seemed to be quite busy with it being sold out but they were very nice. Carrol on the breakfast crew was so nice and helpful. She made my little ones day with her kindness. Esteban was very helpful on the checkin and super awesome. The rooms have kitchens and with the one bedroom options allows for families or bigger groups to be in two separate rooms. All around a great experience with the staff and team there.
