This was my third camping experience in the Hogan. I will be back again, if you enjoy primitive camping this is the only way to camp. Thanks Howard. Canyon De Chelly is very beautiful and all the local Navajo people very friendly. The private tour into the canyon with a local native guide was a great way to round out...

The reviews for this campground are mixed. Some people seem to love it, some don't. We were prepared to camp there if it looked okay, but it didn't. Frankly, I find it difficult to believe there are so many positive reviews for this place on this site.

We spent 2 nights in the large hogan at Spider Rock campground in August 2013. Although it is rustic (roof partly open to the sky to allow for smoke from wood stove, dirt floor), we found it to be a wonderful and unique experience. We were comfortable on the futon bed (bring your sleeping bag and pillow), not too hot...

We enjoyed our stay in the Medium Hogan at Spider Rock Campground. It was a unique, fun break from tent camping. It was plenty spacious for both of us and our gear and was a cozy, comfortable place to spend the night. Plus not having to set up / take down a tent meant more time for exploring the canyon....

I had read the reviews and was entirely happy and enjoyed this alternative overnight stay. I paid $29 for a small hogan, $7 for a (clean) sleeping bag/pillow/blanket, $2, 50 for a shower, $2 for 24hrs of Wi-Fi access and $6 for firewood. Took my own food/drinks, do this because other than excellent fry-bread ($2 ) there was none I...

We stay here while enjoying Canyon de Chelley, only place to camp in the park! The owners wife makes fresh frybread while you stand there, his son makes sure your camp site is perfect, a real family operation. Very rustic, but so dark at night and quiet you are not really sure where you are, you enter another world here...

We stayed here for one night in the middle of winter while on a 13 day road trip through the southwest US. I gotta say it was one of our favorite experiences on the whole trip. We stayed in the large hogan and were the only people around on the property as far as I could tell (it was middle...

This was a stop over during a road trip in the Four Corners region, en route to Mesa Verde. It was cold, and in the preseason time of year (March), so there were no showers. We stayed in a hogan, and the camp host gave us extra wood to keep a fire going all night. The Hogan was quite cozy...

We recently stayed at Spider Rock while my husband was there shooting "The Lone Ranger".Weather at this time can be a little iffy, 80 degree days or snow. We have a 40 ft fifthwheel toyhauler and the had a really nice spot with a dump at the site. Howard, the owner is a very lovely man and very accomodating. There...

We really enjoyed our stay in this campground. It is rustic but that is part of the appeal for us. We had a beautiful quiet spot with plenty of room for our fifth wheel trailer. (We do not use a generator as we have solar panels.) Howard was our guide for a Jeep tour and he arranged for his nephew,...
