I had visited NYC with my family and stayed very close to Times Square. This trip (3 girls in mid-20's) was a different experience, and the hotel we chose definitely assisted with it. The Best Western is in the heart of Chinatown, and offers a unique experience from the typical "tourist" stay. Reminder, you are in the middle of traditional...

Just spent 2 nights at the BW Bowery Hanbee Hotel after almost a month in Europe and compared to other 3 star properties there this was luxury. The hotel is very close to Grand St subway station (1.5 minute walk away) and smack dab in Chinatown next to some mouth watering eateries (if you like Asian and Italian cuisines). We...

First time back in NYC in twenty years. Took a chance on this Chinatown hotel strictly on reviews. After two Southwest delays ( one for 3 hours in Tampa) we finally got to LaGuardia. Dial 7 Limo picked us up and it was a perfect inexpensive ride in a Lincoln Towncar ($27 after using a $4 coupon !!) Got to...

We had a great stay at the Best Western. The hotel is located close to Little Italy resturants and also close to subway stations. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms which were a bit small ,but then again it is manhattan, we're clean. My only complaint would be that other guests in the hallways at night...

The hotel is quite basic and more in the Chinatown area than I would have liked. The staff is very helpful and friendly! Rooms are OK, I liked the hardwood floors (NO dusty wall to wall carpets). You will surely get enough food to eat for breakfast, but there's not much other than carbohydrates available (that is bagels, muffins, white...

Being budget minded we wanted a hotel for our New York City stay that wouldn't break the bank. The Best Western Bowery Hanbee exceeded our expectations. Situated on the boundary of China Town and Little Italy it was an interesting cultural district with more restautants within a five minute walk than you could count. Subway stations are within a five...

The Good: -Barely a block from the subway. -Nice modern design. No ugly carpet/wallpaper/sheets that you often experience in older hotels. Nice sized flat screen tv. -The room was very clean. -We had no problem with noise unless we had the window to the street open. -The service at this location was wonderful. The staff was friendly and responsive. -Very...

We were pleasantly surprised with the great accommodations at this hotel. Clean, spacious enough, very comfortable bed and a nice breakfast included. The location was also good with easy access to the subway system. We parked in the recommended lot on Elizabeth Street after finding a discount coupon on line first. We will definitely return to this hotel. Ask for...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
