We stayed at the Chelsea Savoy hotel for 2 nights in July 2011. I was with my wife, 2 year old and 8 week old daughter. The hotel got us a portable crib that was clean and perfect for my 2 year old. You should know going in that this is nowhere close to a luxury hotel. It is a...

I was worried the accommodations might be a little spartan. Instead, this may be my new go-to spot. I was able to get in my room at 9:00 am, having walked the few blocks from Penn Station. The room was sparse, but spotlessly clean. It would have been nice to have somewhere to sit besides the bed or the wooden...

This was the third time I've stayed at the Chelsea Savoy. I've grown addicted to its near-perfect location near 3 uptown/downtown subway routes (on 6th, 7th and 8th Avenues) and a crosstown bus route (on 23rd St.). On previous occasions, I became acquainted with the somewhat brusque attitude of the front desk staff mentioned by numerous other reviewers. This time...

The Hotel was clean, no bed bugs. The view from the room was not the best but other than that nothing negative to say. This hotel is within walking distance to Penn station and times square. and a quick cab ride to tons of restaurants and great bars. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Chelsea Savoy for one night while in NYC. The location is very convenient for exploring Manhattan, there are two subway stations within a block. If you are driving in, there is a parking garage less than a block away. There are also tons of restaurants, markets, and shops in the area. We arrived early and our...

Got a room on the third floor on the 23rd street side, for NYC it was quiet never slept better in NYC no earplugs needed ! Clean bathroom, great shower, enough space for...

The Chelsea Savoy was an excellent choice for me and the small group of my students attending an academic conference in NYC. It had entirely adequate accommodations, a perfect location, and a moderate price. Alas, my room on the 3rd floor faced 7th Avenue, which meant traffic noise. I could even hear the 7th Ave. subway directly below. So, until...

New York is a big city and hotels will be more expensive. We believe we found a good balance between cost and quality with the location being the overall convincing factor. We would stay here again but you need to place everything into perspective. This is not 5 star accommodation. That said it offers rooms that are spacious by big...

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in Sept. and were pleasantly surprised...wonderng what such a reasonable rate would offer. We were able to store our luggage when we arrived before the room was ready; and when we did get to our room, it was small but clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was professional, the housekeeping...

We stayed two nights and had a very pleasant stay. We traveled with friends and they had an identical room. The rooms were small but were clean and comfortable. We were on the fourth floor and could open our window. We loved the sounds of the city! The price was great and included a continental breakfast with coffee, bagels, and...

Neighbourhood Profile
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination.
